A Merry Christmas To Everybody!

first thing we went shopping, to the TukCom Centre,

we parked up opposite what was the Gossip restaurant under the Day Night 2 Hotel, the restaurant closed some time ago with after several months no signs of it reopening,

we were going to the centre for two things firstly we needed some DVD cases, but also the plastic on my camera that protects the screen had become scratched and had developed a couple of bubbles under it where it had lifted away, trying to clean it I made it worse, so for 100 baht a new one was fitted, then home,

where we had a pleasant surprise, Kai had flown in from the UK and after meeting some of her friends had called in to give Diana an early Christmas present,

a huge selection of different coloured eye make ups, Diana was over the moon with it, as you can guess it was tried all afternoon, unfortunately Kai did not stay long, but you can bet the girls will be on a shopping and ice cream fest soon!

later in the afternoon Diana went to the hairdressing salon to have her hair curled ready for the evening and beautiful it looked too,

as did her red dress for Christmas,

we were going out with Mr. Tony and Booie for a Christmas eve meal,

Ah! a Christmas kiss,

a at arms length picture of us,

look out behind you!

Diana looking as lovely as ever,

then we were off, to Cherry's, for their set Christmas eve meal, the restaurant is on Third Road opposite what once was the X-Cite disco,

and here we were, Diana, Booie and Mr. Tony,

and what a feast we had to look forward to,

starting with an amuse bouche,

then the starter proper,

tiger prawns and scallops from the US served on a lemon grass skewer with grilled vegetables, rocket leaves and a vinaigrette sauce,

next a cream of mushroom with black truffle soup,

as always we have a long break between courses, so time for a cocktail,

then our next dish arrived,

pan fried goose liver on a pillow of duckling ragout with mixed berry and balsamic reduction,

'Cheers!', from me,

after another break we were treated to a raspberry sorbet with vodka,

a Merry Christmas from all of us as the main course arrived,

there was a selection to chose from, traditional roast turkey or an Australian veal tenderloin, which ever you went for the servings were huge,

after all of that we were served desserts,

but first another Merry Christmas from us all,

Ah!,

the dessert consisted of a chocolate soufflé with brandy sauce, vanilla ice cream and nougat leaves,

it was delicious, well as a matter of fact the whole meal was,

we finished with a latte coffee,

we must buy one of those coffee machines, we like latte coffee so much, then just as we thought it was all over a tray of Christmas cookies arrived, what a wonderful way to start Christmas!

in the afternoon as Diana was at the hairdressing salon I decided to get Christmas off to an early start, by watching El Cid, a film of the legendary Spanish hero, Rodrigo Diaz ("El Cid" to his followers), who, without compromising his strict sense of honour, still succeeds in taking the initiative and driving the Moors from Spain, but this hardly does the film justice, also as you may know both of the stars in real life loathed each other both on and off the set, (amongst other things it appears Heston was annoyed that her salary was higher than his), but still a great film to watch, it seemed appropriate as I remember watching parts of it so often at Christmas in the UK! this will be the last post for a couple of days as we are spending Christmas with Nick & Maureen, so once again a very Merry Christmas to everybody.
