How Do You Define Luck?

if an identified snake bites you,

which was what happened to an 18-year-old contractor who was bitten by an unidentified snake on the lower right leg while clearing scrub on a Capella property west of Rockhampton, Brisbane, Australia about 10.30am on Friday, was it luck that he survived the bite after an RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter airlifted the man to Mackay Base Hospital or was he just unlucky to be bitten? Moving on in the same weekend on Sunday, the man went back to work in the same paddock when he was bitten again by a snake, twice on the left forearm, when he put down his chainsaw after clearing scrub, another rescue helicopter, with a doctor and care paramedic aboard, airlifted the man to Mackay Base Hospital just before midday, "This incredibly unlucky fellow wasn't very talkative as he was in great deal pain when we arrived at the hospital today," an RACQ CQ Rescue crewman said, "He did tell us this time the snakebite happened at the opposite end of the same paddock he was working in when he was bitten on Friday.", but was he lucky to have survived both bites when either one could have potentially killed him?
