this could be the post for you,
and the place to visit, getting
to the Fujiko F Fujio Museum in
the outskirts of Tokyo just got a lot more fun,
the fun starts at the
elevator which is designed to look like one of Doraemon’s signature gadgets: dokodemo
door,
the
museum, which pays tribute to the creators of Doraemon, is admittedly a bit
hard to get to. You first have to access Noborito Station on the Odakyu Line
where a shuttle bus takes you to the museum,
but
now, thanks to a partnership between the museum, Noborito Station has undergone
a drastic makeover that rendered everything from their signage and elevators to
storage lockers in Doraemon colors and motifs,
the numbers
on the lockers mimic the numbering system of the original comic books,
the
Doraemon character himself actually doesn’t appear too frequently,
and you have to look to find him,
even the
bathrooms have a touch of Doraemon,
well why not?
tasked
with the redesign was graphic designer Kishino Shogo, who took the Doraemon
color palette and translated it into working signage and graphics for the
station that are beautiful yet subtle enough that they don’t obstruct the
usability,
and
the more time you spend looking, the more details you’ll notice,
what a great way to get kids interested in going to museums.
