A Couple Of Days Of Only One Post,

for today, Tuesday, I will be visiting Duncan, so as soon as I post this I will be out,

and as tomorrow is Diana's day off, we have a trip out planned, so again we will be out first thing, back to Monday, I decided to replant the Venus fly trap seedlings,

so out with my trusty hot glue gun,

to attach a couple of pots to two plant trays, that is to give them height on the window sill so that the window frame does not block sunlight to them,

next move the three seedlings,

out of the propagator tray,

into a pot each,

where hopefully,

they will continue to grow,

propagator gone, 2 new trays in their place on the sill,

the tray that was here I moved into the kitchen, room for lots more plants now!

in the afternoon I picked Diana up from work, I wanted to buy a few new pots and we thought as we had to go to Bell Green we would stop off at Sainsbury's,

I made my way to B & Q meanwhile Diana went shopping,

naturally we arranged to meet here, at Next,

Diana came back loaded down with coffee pods and a few other goodies, one other stop before we left,

Diana picked up a few things here, McDonald's, and snacked on them on the way home, arriving home all of the regular television channels were showing nothing but sport, football, tennis, cycling you name it all of it having no interest to us at all, and this despite electing for a cheaper television package not to show sport! as well as Tipping Point and The Chase, even Deadliest Catch and Wicked Tuna had been cancelled, so a couple of repeated Antiques Road Trips it was, next the final episode of Taboo, a series we both enjoyed, Diana remarked it would be nice to find another series as good as this tomorrow evening, we rounded off the evening with a Have I Got A Bit More News For You, before we were both off to bed.

Where Does The Time Go?

Sunday has raced around again,

we had a quiet Sunday, it was so overcast we decided not to walk to the mansion today, first a read and a sherry before lunch,

time for our starters,

a crabstick salad with boiled eggs, sweetcorn, diced spring onions and cucumber on a bed of lettuce,

for our main course roast chicken, with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself,

we followed that with a sherry trifle, before a afternoon of Columbo, in the evening one more from Taboo, then Diana was off to bed, a week of early starts for the next week, for myself one from Have I Got A Bit More News For You before I too was off to bed.

If You Are This Close,

to this,

all image credits Bugatti, you are sitting in one of these,

the newly announced Bugatti Tourbillon

Mate Rimac declared on the hypercar’s world premiere at its elegant Molsheim, France HQ in late June 2024: ‘The obvious thing would have been to re-skin a Rimac Nevera, but Bugatti doesn’t do obvious.’

so a Cosworth-developed 1000hp 8.3-litre V16 petrol engine it was then, but that left the car a tad light in the horse power department,

so add to that three electric motors for company, two at the front and one at the rear, adding another 800hp to collectively contribute to a 1800hp total, now that’s more like it! Bugatti reckons this will give the car an acceleration figure of from 0-62mph in 2.0 seconds, the Tourbillon also has a 25kWh battery which, if desired, allows the car to cruise emission-free under electric-only power for 37 miles,

so how much is this 277mph super-powered road rocket? Well if you are quick it can be yours for £3.2m but you had better be almost as quick as the car, there will be a limited 250-unit production run, first deliveries are due in 2026, I wonder if they do a right-hand drive model?

A Piano,

like no other that I am familiar with,

all image credits courtesy of Based Upon, it is the Twist/D,

Based Upon is a studio that refuses to follow the norms of any creative sector, their public artworks can be found in London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and New York,

co-Founder Ian Abell describes the challenge: 'At Based Upon, we often question why functionality is so frequently deemed to destroy the purity of an artwork. Why should one be compromised in preference of the other? During our exploration of pianos as a subject, our intent has always been to create a credible piece of art while preserving the integrity of the instrument.'

twelve computer-modelled Steinways and Bechsteins of differing periods and in varying settings provide an extraordinary array of tonal qualities. The interaction between strings, the position of hammers, the cabinet resonance, and pedal mechanisms of these iconic instruments have all been precisely replicated,

as you might expect a signature piano like this is not cheap, £195.000 plus VAT (in the UK 20%), also factor in transportation and installation, as it happens I tried playing a piano many years ago, it did not take long before Mum and Dad realised I was totally ungifted in the piano playing department!
