and I was off to visit Duncan,
into a chilly, cold day,
first a walk to the station where I picked up the railway tickets for next months visits,
then a walk to the bus stop for the number 54 bus to Blackheath,
on the top deck I passed the shoe repair shop,
and the new mini roundabout at the entrance to the park where we live,
Homebase by Peter Pan's Pool, the store soon to be closed for good,
nearing Catford it started to drizzle,
and by the time I reached the Lewisham one way system it was raining,
at the station work had finished on the platforms,
the ends of the roofs now in place, I was lucky with the trains the Gravesend train running today, so no changing at Dartford,
more good luck, a number 483 bus was waiting so no time for a photograph at the bus stand, off of the bus and up the hill,
to the nursing home where Duncan stays,
inside he was in good sprits, Diana had bought some grapes as well as the usual crisp, biscuits and chocolates, we chatted away until lunch time when we said our goodbyes,
I made my way out of the nursing home,
and to the bus stop, again more good luck a through train to Blackheath, on to a number 54 bus and I was on my way,
on the way back, two of the ladies in blue going back to the stables,
in Lewisham High Street, lots of paving slabs,
and here the new pavement in place,
opposite Lewisham hospital the gardens now planted,
not sure what the plants are,
one of the bee gardens on top of some of the bus shelters,
but this one just weeds, the original plants all died out,
but this one successful,
the original plants still going strong,
I stayed on the bus, passing Beckenham Place Park,
in the green,
fairy lights everywhere,
off of the bus, This 'N' That closed today,
I popped over the road to Kingfisheries and dropped off some printing,
the signs for Christmas opening, next onto the number 54 bus,
and past Foxgrove Lodge,
and home, in the evening time for a read and a sherry,
for tonight liver and bacon,
'Cheers!',
Diana enjoying herself, shredding all of our personal information that we had to amass for her visa application, when I think back to all of the blood, sweat and tears, not to mention huge expense that went into it all, but now it is over, thank goodness, we watched a Midsomer Murder, after which we were both a tad tired, so for us we were off to bed.
