and we hope you did too,
first thing it was in the oven with the turkey, it was a tad large, Diana had a real squeeze trying to fit in the gammon ham as well,
next a couple of Christmas photographs,
'Ah!',
a few nibbles,
on the coffee table,
the dinning table laid ready for lunch,
the tree looking nice,
with presents underneath,
the number swelled when Steve and Kai arrived,
which was the signal to get out the bubbly,
easy does it,
'Cheers!',
all set for starters,
a lobster tail each and a selection of sliced meats and salad,
the girls then switched to coke,
expertly poured,
before our dinner,
time for crackers,
with jokes,
and hats,
1 - 2 - 3,
bang!
it was then food on the table,
did I mention the turkey was huge?
Diana carved the meats, I am hopeless at carving as I proved 2 Christmases running many years ago,
where as Diana is so good,
meal served with rainbow carrots,
sans gravy for myself,
then time for presents, Diana only took a few photographs,
and only of me,
this was rather nice,
from Steve and Kai, a medicinal glass, for rum! engraved for me,
along with a bottle of my favorite tipple, Kraken spiced rum,
in the evening back to the table for dessert, but first another bubbly,
Steve doing the honours,
'Cheers!',
then my turn, out with the brandy,
and over the pudding, all went swimmingly well, we all had a wonderful time, after we said our goodbyes we watched a few Christmas programmes form a time past, Morecombe & Wise to mention one before we were off to bed.
