I started to play with a few photographs,
when Bob called, he and Debbie were in the park listening to a swing band, did I want to join them?
I was out of the door and walking towards the mansion in no time, on the gate that stops cars using the road as a short cut these were posted,
a bit of a grey overcast day,
a few tents at the back of the mansion,
getting ready for bank holiday Monday I guess,
into the courtyard,
and there they were, Debbie and Bob,
beer on tap, what could be better?
and here they are,
I regret to say I do not know the name of the band,
but they were entertaining as the three of us chatted away,
and there were a lot of them!!
over the proceedings a huge mirrored ball,
which gave a nice 360° view, or is it a 180° view?
a closer look, after saying my farewells I was away,
on the field opposite the mansion,
there were a few sports events for kids,
with lots of the locals joining in,
past the house opposite,
the snail mail box and home,
next time for a read and a sherry,
before tucking into onion bhajis,
and a chicken korma with pulao rice, 'Cheers!', after my meal,
switching on the television The Glen Miller Story was playing so I watched that, a easy movie to watch, there has been much speculation about how he tragically died, this the latest to explore what happened,
I followed that with The Dambusters, a good old patriotic war film, in case you are not aware of it, the film is based on a true story, the film is a fitting tribute to the raid, and the massive losses of 617 squadron, of the 19 aircraft to go out, only 11 came back, 77 crew lost in the raid, and I can not fail to mention the Carling Black Label parody commercial of the film,
I seem to remember some UK television companies and cinema chains banning it, well I guess they did not want to upset the neighbors,
as the film finished the latest television episode of The Count of Monte Cristo was starting, so I watched that until Diana arrived home, then feet up for some fresh raspberries as we watched a It Ain't Half Hot Mum before we were off to bed.
