First Thing After breakfast,

Diana waters the plants,
it must be the season for plants to flower,
the sun flowers are getting bigger by the day,
then the water treatment repair guy called in, not only did the 3 cartridges underneath need replacing but the two at the top did as well, (they have already been removed), looks like a complicated bit of kit, but it is just a high pressure pump with various filters and membranes that purify tap water, the other alternative is to have water guys drop of water in bottles, I guess 25 liters or so at 40 baht a time or 10 baht for the non U.V. water, but for me I prefer to have water on tap as it were, the downside is you have to replace filters, this was the first time it has been done in three years at a cost of 3,440 baht, but the water flowed so much quicker now than before, I have to say it was not a quick service either, the guy was very thorough and here for over 2 hours, well done HomeWorks!
we spent the day watching films also Mark called round, but in the evening at 9.20 a firework display started,
strange time to start
and I could see no reason for having a display,
a lesson in how not to take a picture of fireworks, as the exposure is made if you move even a fraction of an inch the firework trails will 'weave' like this,
or this, for better results use a tripod and expose with your camera on 'B' (bulb), if it has that setting for a few seconds,
but just occasionally you can get lucky with a hand held camera,
during the day we watched another 4 episodes of The Sopranos, now getting to be really enjoyable, I must be liking it, I have already decided which character I want to see shot, or as Tony would say 'clipped' in the next episode,
Congo is bit of a strange one, it had all of the makings of a 'B' type movie, a talking gorilla, some one in a gorilla suit, some terrible acting, strange story line, but towards the end of the film the earthquake special effects and the gorilla guardians of the piece were remarkably good,
we went back to a series we had watched before Ultimate Crimes - Blood Money, even having seen it before it is so chilling to see what people will do to each other for money,
to round off the evening the first of a trilogy of films, Powaqqatsi it is billed as 'an exploration of technologically developing nations and the effect the transition to Western-style modernization has had on them,' no commentary, just images put to music, it brings home how fortunate some of us are....and the many that are not, in case you are wondering, Powaqqatsi is a Hopi word meaning "parasitic way of life" or "life in transition", for us off to bed.
