Last Night We Had A Huge Thunderstorm,

in the street a collection of flip-flops had blocked one of the drains,

luckily we had just a restless night with the constant crash of thunder, but as day broke the storm moved away, which was nice as it gave Alex a chance to call round, a few cups of tea and a chat and he was on his way,

followed by Jay and Precil who were in the area calling in for a cuppa or two,

we watched a bit of television, but by now it was getting late, so glad rags on and off to Cherry's for our evening meal,

a good selection of starters for both of us,

Diana decided to skip the main course and make a start on the desserts,

there were about 18 main courses, on the Wednesday night International buffet, plus a salad bar

for me though another plate of starters, this time garlic mussels amongst other delicacies,

then on to the main courses,

honey roast duck, lamb, curried chicken, rib eye beef and pork, made up my main course,

'Cheers!' again from me, I could not eat the included dessert, but the all you can eat meal with 3 glasses of wine came to just a tad over 1,000 baht, great food at a reasonable price, then home feet up and watch a few DVD's,

Ultimate Crimes - Headline Murders was the first for today, features three documentaries which consider some of the world's most infamous murders, Cult Killings, Celebrity Murder and Hollywood Murder, perhaps not best viewed on a full stomach!

this next one was a real treat! The Young Victoria, the 63 year reign of Queen Victoria is perhaps one of the most documented and popularly known historical reigns in British history, using her dairies that she wrote as a young girl this drama/documentary chronicles her life, dominated by her possessive mother and her bullying consort, Conroy, since childhood, teen-aged Victoria refuses to allow them the power of acting as her regent in the last days of her uncle, William IV's rule, the DVD was just 106 minutes long, or I should say short, a joy to watch, we both hope that a 'follow on', will be made, great viewing,

lastly a real oldie, The Graduate from 1967, Diana barely recognized Dustin Hoffman, Ben, played by him, has recently graduated college, with his parents now expecting great things from him, at his "Homecoming" party, Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his father's business partner, has Ben drive her home, which leads to an affair between the two, the affair eventually ends, but comes back to haunt him when he finds himself falling for Elaine, Mrs. Robinson's daughter, the ending parodied by Abe Simpson in the twenty-first episode of the fifth season, then for us off to bed.
