We Did Not Have A Lot Planned Today,

just a trip to the market for some fruit,
but on the way out I took a few more pictures of Diana's flowers,
the hibiscus are really growing well,
the last few amaryllis are also flowering,
the proud owner, but still some more planting to do, 5 sacks of compost to go,
I had missed this one, it is a double hibiscus, the flower was hidden from view, but Diana knew it was there,
then to the market, this is the one nearly opposite the temple complex in Pattaya Tai, (south),
some roses I guess from Chiang Mai,
it must be mango season!
we also wanted some of those small yellow plums and some apples,
on the way back some mango's, 3 kilos for 100 baht,
that is what 3 kilos looks like, we had a couple later in the evening, they were so sweet!
we also decided on another kilo of plums,
and a strawberry shake for Diana, after dropping Diana home I called round for a cup of tea or two at Mark's,
then home for the first of our DVD's for today, we finished the first series of Open All Hours, it brings back so many memories of the local corner shop in the mid 1950's where I was sent to do the shopping, I can still smell the boiled ham as I walked in,
next a documentary, Bloody Britain, it chronicles Britain's gruesome past with the presenter sometimes experiencing the pain of torture,
we watched the first couple of episodes of this mini television series, the first the Battle of Trafalgar, then Queen Mary Tudor, or as she was known Bloody Mary, one of the reason's given that she was called that was that she burned more British people at the stake than the Spanish Inquisition in the same time frame,
having enjoyed the first DVD of Cirque du Soleil so much we bought the second series of four shows, the first Cirque réinventé, an extraordinary show of acrobats, contortionists and trick cyclists, at one stage 13 or 14 people on one bike, but I would not recommend this episode if you suffer from coulrophobia,
as it was getting late a scary one from the Hammer box next, The Plague of the Zombies, young workers are dying because of a mysterious epidemic in a little village in Cornwall, doctor Thompson is helpless and asks professor James Forbes for help, Forbes presumes that black magic is involved and someone has extraordinary power, but how to stop them?

then New Tricks, first Shadow Show, Ex-actress Gloria Gransford draws the team's attention to a clip, posted on the Internet, from a film she made in 1990 called 'Shadow Show', after which the producer Max Stone was stabbed to death and leading lady Eva Roderick disappeared, the only other surviving crew member from the film - who posted the clip - is found dead, his young boyfriend goes on the run and located Eva, who now has a new identity, blackmail and a siege situation develops, which Brian defuses, followed by Death of a Timeshare Salesman, five years earlier Dean Scott was found dead of shot-gun wounds and suicide was the verdict, but new evidence and witness mean it could be murder, after all of that for us, we were off to bed.

Paid $12 a kilo for bananas yesterday here in Australia thats- 372 Baht. Due to our crop being wiped out by the cyclone and the fact we won't import any.

Dear Dulcify, although not as expensive as Australia, of all things bananas over her have really gone up in price, just a couple of years ago a bunch of say 15 bananas was 20 baht or so, now 70 - 80 baht, it is not as cheap as it was out here, but I guess the Australian government must be worried about introducing a pest of some kind if they imported bananas? best regards, Stan and Diana.
