We Still Had Two Empty Pots At The Front Of The House,

so off to the Soi Bukoaw market, but first another picture of one of the new plants we bought last week, they seem to have a new flower every few days or so, then to Soi Bukaow itself, I walked in from the Soi end just to have a look around,

Diana made her own way in, we would meet up for a ice coffee later,

I always give the boiling oil a wide berth,

I had not been dress shopping for more than a few weeks, but spotted a couple of new ones I thought Diana might like,

it looks a bit empty here, but in fact the market was packed with people,

a quick look at the fish store, but nothing there took my fancy,

a couple of weeks ago we noticed some large red flowers that you could buy the bulbs for, so we called in to buy some, but by now they had all been sold, the good news is that I knew they came from Brazil, so I asked when some more would be here, next month came the confidante reply, so we will try again then, but we did buy a few different bulbs for one of the pots, 5 for 50 baht,

Diana arrived back with some of those yellow plums and a new dress, 3 in one day!

next we walked to the Tuc Com center for some new exterior bulbs as a few more had blown, also we wanted to pick up a Thia/English wireless keyboard for a friend in the UK, but first a walk past the bike shop and this little number,

some one has spent a lot of time and money on it,

into Friendship for some shopping,

then home where some of the bulbs we purchased a few years ago are flowering, this year 9 flower heads in all so far, Phil called in later for a cup of tea and a chat, he had just returned from India, after he left it was feet up for a few DVD's,

first Real Life Heroes - The Great Adventurers, featuring Lawrence of Arabia, Howard Carter and Captain Henrik Kurt Carlsen, each mini documentary about 25 minutes long, each very interesting and well worth watching, they are produced by Odeon, there are a few more in the series so they will be next on the 'to buy' list,

an excellent drama/documentary by National Geographic, Sea Monsters, a group finds a skeleton and delves into it's ancient history, it trips up a few times when the narrator tells us what the animal is thinking, I mean how would any one know? but apart from that hugely watchable, the special effects are great, watched to the background of Diana shouting out '3D' I wish!

then the master at work, I still remember Zoo Quest for a Dragon being shown in black and whist watching it at aged 6, I was spell bound, well in Attenborough in Paradise they showed some black and white footage which reminded me so much of it I remarked to Diana at the time Mum and Dad bought me the best Christmas present ever, a hard back copy of Zoo Quest, I read the covers off it! I can still even remember the photographs in it and the personality of one of the Land Rovers they travelled in, but back to Paradise, he travels in his youth to unexplored tribes, also he tracks down the history of the bird people of Christmas Island, again for us hugely watchable, as an aside I tried to download the 6 part Quest for a Dragon series from the BBC archive, all I received was the message 'Not Available In Your Area' I wonder why?

what better way to round the evening off than New Tricks? tonight A Face for Radio, the UCOS team investigates the death 10 years ago of popular disc jockey Johnny Deacon who died in a fire when the radio station was set alight, the police knew it was arson, but were never able to find enough evidence to charge anyone, but will the team? Loyalties and Royalties almost carries on from the disc jockey story but this time with a pop group, the team investigates the death of rock star Andy Fletcher, who supposedly committed suicide in 1975, Gerry gets information from a dying woman who has information that suggests otherwise, but before she can be interviewed she too dies, lastly Couldn't Organise One, after a bent detective is discovered on the force, the UCOS team is tasked with investigating his only unsolved case, in 1998, assistant brewer Graham Thompson was found drowned in a vat of beer at Felspar Breweries, what a way to go! also Sandra continues to investigate her late father's activities while he was on the job, who was a friend of the bent copper, then off to bed.
