just make sure you have a big enough truck!
as you would expect lots of orchids,
some are real beauties,
these looked very nice, different types of mosses grown on a type of soft rock, it looks like tufa rock but I am not 100% sure, the down side is that it needs constant watering, also even a small piece was in the 250 - 300 baht range, a biggish piece was not cheap at 650 baht, but you never know maybe a small piece in a couple of weeks time, it sure did look nice, almost like a miniature garden,
another new plant for me,
I do not have a clue what it was called, the plant itself was about 9" tall,
another impressive display of succulents,
new for this week golden rabbits,
of course I had to stop and have a look at the fish stall,
it does not look so good in the picture, but this was a really impressive Bougainvillea,
then Diana spotted what we were after,
a couple of hibiscus, in different colours to the ones we already have,
we also spotted some of the dark red amaryllis we were after, the strange thing was that all of the more common amaryllis were being sold for 250 - 300 baht each, but these were going for 100 baht each, so we bought three,
we then spotted some delicate pink hibiscus so those were added to our already bagged plants,
also here again were some Echinocactus grusonii, rather cruelly called mother in laws pillow, or sometimes chair,
and a few more garden ornaments,
Diana just loves those hibiscus,
as we took the truck we also bought another 6 bags of soil, next give the plants a drink,
the white one has two things going for it, firstly it has a double flower, secondly it is scented,
after watering the new plants we were off again this time to the fresh food market,
spring onions and some other herbs,
there was lots of choice,
freshly bar-b-qued fish,
for Diana to snack on later tonight,
then it was time for me to meet the boys for a couple of drinks, so down to a very crowded Walking Street, Beach Road was closed to traffic,
this is the view looking along it where the taxis at night normally have to turn left,
the view from Walking Street looking towards Second Road where it become Pattaya Tai or South, hundreds of stalls everywhere,
and here are the boys, Sunda, Depak, Mahendra and Madhu,
we called into one bar whose name we had all forgotten, then along to Sweethearts, I have used an old picture of it as for some reason the cameras auto focus did not work,
next we went in to say Hi to Grieg in Roxy where we meet up with Russ, now I am not saying he had a few drinks, but I could definitely see three of him! Grieg as usual took very good care of us, so much so that we decamped into the bar next door he also runs Hooty's, the drinks flowed we all had such a good time many thanks to Grieg, next port of call as it was getting late was to Champions, unfortunately we missed Juu by a few minutes, but we settled down to end the evening there, we said our farewells and headed home,
we had watched some of Gone with the Wind in the afternoon so now it was time to watch the rest, in case you have not seen it the setting is a Georgia plantation, the year is 1861, and sixteen-year-old Scarlett O'Hara is infatuated with the blond, drowsy-eyed Ashley Wilkes - the problem is, Ashley plans to marry another woman, little matter that every other man in the county is courting Scarlett and that a charming scoundrel named Rhett Butler is staring at her with questionable intent - she cares only for Ashley, suddenly, the Civil War brakes out, changing the fates and fortunes of all. Scarlett, clever, manipulative, and charming, proves an adept survivor - but what will she have to do to survive? and will she ever learn whom it is that she really loves? great story beautifully filmed, then for us off to bed.
