Underwater World Pattaya,

is located on the Sumkivit road as you are leaving Pattaya to go to Satahip on the right hand side, this is the sign to look out for as you go past it on the right make a "U" turn to go back towards Pattaya, notice the clouds in the distance,
free brochure with map, although mainly in Russian there is a English translation,
the cost to get in is 450 baht each unless you are thai or have a thai driving license, in which case it is 250,
Diana poses by the Great White Shark outside,

well I just had to strike the pose as well! today of all days the battery was flat in my truck, so we went on my motorcycle, here is a hint as to what happened when we finished looking around the aquarium, look at the thunder clouds behind the shark!

the entrance hall, strangely you can take still pictures with a normal camera using a flash, but video cameras are banned,

a nice waterfall in the main foyer,

Diana tormenting the fish!

me by the Koi pond,

as you go into the main exhibit there are two "touch tanks" one with fish and one with invertebrates like starfish and sea cucumbers,

the entrance to the displays,
Diana was really fascinated by the seahorse aquarium,
looking at them it is almost possible to think they are not fish at all,
sharks with Diana,
if only Diana knew how to cook batfish!
moray eels, this aquarium had many of the dangerous and poisonous fish in it like scorpion and lion fish,
hermit crabs also fascinated Diana,
this is a cleaner shrimp, they set up station on a coral reef and as their name implies clean wounds and eat parasites from larger fish, an example of Symbiosis in nature, the shrimp gets food brought to it and does not get eaten by the much larger fish and the fish has unwanted parasites removed, if you want to see a fuller explanation of Symbiosis, click here, now on the way out, and of course it was pouring down with rain, that is why the truck did not start, I must remember to charge it up tomorrow, the problem is that I only use the truck once every couple of months, even though it has a new battery it needs to be started every month or so, note to self, start the truck every month!
