We Started The Day With A late Breakfast On Jomtien,

at the Cafe Sunshine,
just on the corner of Soi White House Hotel,
parking is a bit tricky as it is on the corner so there are red no parking lines everywhere, except on the corner, so that is alright then! we sat at the front of the restaurant where it is a bit "rustic" also a good place for watching people go by,
prawn cocktail for me chicken in oyster sauce for Diana, 330 baht including soda and water,
view of the beach from the restaurant,
Cafe Sunshine is easy to spot as this stall always seems to be set up in the middle of the road, I had planned to do a little on the railway, but John from Jomtien phoned to say he would be calling round, just as he left Dang called in to say it was his daughters birthday and we were invited so it was off to his place shortly after,
we have been to Dang's many times before, so much food and drink,
Dang always the congenial host, he owns the bar on the corner of Soi Diamond and Walking Street, the New Gold Star Bar,
lots of balloons and tables in the street,
Bim whose birthday it is on the right and her younger sister,
Dang as any good boss keeping an eye on his business, via the Internet,
birthday cake from Swensens,
the fascination of dry ice,
everybody has some!
clever stuff this dry ice,
birthday girl Bim, 13 years old today,
now to blow out the candles,
and a chorus of "Happy Birthday"
Bim and her Mum,
a few more of the family,
then down to the serious bit of the party!
"Cheers!" from all of us,
and from Dang, a great time was had by all,
also very kindly one of Dang's friends who I had meet several times before gave me this pendent, it is one of the kings of Thailand, but I regret to say I am not sure which one, once again a happy birthday to Bim.

Dear Jungle Jil, many thanks for the info, Thai history is not my strong point. Sorry to hear that Tyson has been unwell, as you can see from our blog nothing much has changed over here, best regards, Stan and Diana.
