It Is A Jaguar,

but not as we know it,

start with a 1953 Jaguar XK120, but in 1955 give it to US designer Bill Flajole and hey presto you have a Flajole Forerunner, in case you think it looks some how familiar Bill Flajole wasn’t the only American designer who recognised the XK 120’s appeal, over at Chevrolet Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell also were applying XK 120 principles to their own nascent sports car, it debuted at the 1953 GM Motorama with the name Corvette, strange to think that an all America car was in fact based on a UK Jaguar! but back to the prototype, the 1955 Flajole Forerunner, chassis no. S673772, engine no. W7884-8S, was sold by Bonhams in Aug 2009 they sold it for $188,500 inc. premium, would I like it? yes please! all I need to do is find the $300,000 asking price and pop over to Missouri-based dealer Hyman Ltd, out of interest they have a really nice selection of other vehicles for sale check them out.
