Straight On To Todays Post,

as we are out early,

first thing we were buzzed by a powered parachute,

then we were off to the Burapha Pattaya bike week at the National Indoor Sports Stadium on Soi Chaiyapreuk 2 in East Pattaya,

we first had a look along some of the food aisles,

 which looked so tempting,

 we passed a few stalls,

 and bikes for sale,

 this one 950,000 baht,

there were lots of accessories for sale too,

and more bikes like this Triumph Rocket 3, yours for 700,000 baht,

not for sale but I had never seen one of these up close before, the Ducati scrambler,

 an assortment of harley's,

there were a number of clubs here,

 a pair of psychedelic Yamahas,

looking totally different from both sides,

 Predator style bone domes,

 how it all began,

put a motor on a bicycle,

 an entry level Harley,

and a stretched, dropped, blocked and chopped 4,

now we are entering the kingdom of real bikes,

 so many Triumphs,

 in so many sizes,

 and ages,

there was also this BMW R26 or R27,

 what a sight,

I am not sure what was in the mind of who ever designed this bicycle,

we then went past a few more food stalls,

as you might guess we were slightly hungry,

then to the bits and pieces section,

the Ford Anglia was here the same one we see every year,

and a look at some of the goods on offer,

 some are old,

 and some are new,

let the force be with you,

more food, in many stalls the food is sold on a stick, so no messy fingers,

now that's what I call chicken on a stick!

 do not be fooled,

it is not a Norton but a single cylinder Yamaha,

I liked the twin leading shoe front brake and the overall cafe racer look,

some cars on show were standard, just made to look very clean especially in the engine department,

 a tidy motorcycle and sidecar,

 with red bull,

then a brace of fabulous Nortons,

this one a Norton 250cc Jubilee twin,

 an early Norton 88,

 and earlier ES2,

we made our way along the clothes section,

 lots to chose from,

they even had the Egyptian look,

 as well as Indians,

a show stopper, a Ducati Diavel Carbon,

in the center of the showground a monster truck,

the stage where it will be rocking tonight,

a panorama of some of the bikes and stalls,

 we came across,

 some other,

 extreme choppers,

and a real beauty a Triumph Bonneville T 100, the basic model yours for 420,000 baht, (at today's rate $11,796 or £8,132),

the Indians make a charge past the stage,

 next some way out bikes,

 and head gear,

 and trikes,

we then stumbled into a Indian village,

 with Indians,

and their tepees,

this looked like fun, a bucking broncho,

then I found one more my size,

we had seen these two bikes here in previous years

but it was nice to see them again,

the detail really has to be seen to be believed,

 Dang joined us today,

we then went for a look around the car section,

a tidy Ford Mustang with a 302 engine,

 this one a real mover,

with a V8 twin overhead camshaft engine,

 a couple,

 of nice tidy,

Chevrolet's,

there was also a stall selling go faster bits,

 like these superchargers,

 and huge Holley carburetors,

 another tidy,

 Ford,

bonnet or hood ornaments were for sale as well,

back to the food stalls,

for a bite to eat, I am not sure what the girls chose, but it tasted just like a Indian meat samosa,

for myself sen lec gai, small noodle chicken soup,

this was the restaurant we chose,

but there were 30 or more to chose from,

a couple of lads stop off for a coke,

we then spotted this chap with a nurse in attendance,

we were not sure what he was representing, but he looked very colorful,

we passed a couple more custom bikes,

like this low rider then made a move for home,

where it was time for our Saturday night bar-b-q, garlic mussels for starters,

a second starter of garlic bread,

then lite up the barby, lots of smoke of course,

but we were soon in business,

on with the potato and pork chop,

then sit back and contemplate the moon,

chop cooked and it is time to eat,

Diana had switch the oven off, leaving some pieces of pork skin in it to make some crackling, unfortunately she did not heed the warnings my science master Mr. Lowe gave me on more than a few occasions about latent heat, Q = mL, 'Kemp never underestimate the effects of latent heat', I can still hear him now, in this case the interior of roasted meat can never reach temperatures higher than the boiling point of water until all the water is cooked out of it, at which point it would resemble shoe leather, the outside is quickly dried out, however, it can then reach the temperature of the surrounding cooking medium, i.e. the oven, we left the crackling,

on to our dessert fresh strawberries, we listen to music till the midnight hour, then for us we were off to bed.
