For Thoses Of You That Live In Or Around Florida,

it is time to play with snakes!

or I should say catch them as the annual Burmese python removal competition take place and runs from January 16 through February 14 in south Florida, so you had better be quick! basically those rascals have become a major pest in the area as they breed prolifically and are wiping out local wildlife, in the early winter of 2013, nearly 1,600 participants in the first Python Challenge™ trekked through more than a million acres of swamps and sawgrass in search of the well-camouflaged Burmese python, strangely enough we made a post of it then, and also some advice from the organisers, as an aside I looked to see if on the question and answer page what became of the captured pythons, but there was no indication of what happens to them, python stew sprang to mind or if you are from South London like myself jellied python perhaps?
