I Had Another Quiet Day Playing With My New Camera,

which had arrived,

regular readers will know I use a Lumix GX8 and a Lumix FZ 200/220, well as we are going on a 5 week holiday to Thailand and the Philippines I was going to take the FZ200/220, but as it is a bit long in the tooth I thought it would make sense to buy a refurbished later model the FZ300/330, just incase the 200/220 decided to go mustang on the trip, it was advertised that as well as a battery and charger, it would come with a new camera bag and a 32mb card, it all arrived, but, it had a 64mb card included! I was at a loss to know why I had received a much better card, and then I received this:

Dear S F KEMP,

The following order has been shipped to your delivery address:

Congratulations on being our upgrade winner for Monday therefore your kit has been upgraded from the 32gb to the 64gb card giving you twice as much capacity for pictures and movies :)

a big 'Thank You' to Richard at the UK Camera Store Ltd as you might expect I played with my new toy for the rest of the afternoon until Diana returned home, then we were out for a evening meal,

on to a number 54 bus to the Kathmandu Masala

we started on some poppadum's,

and a sherry for myself, a coke for Diana,

our starters arrived, Diana choose a chicken tikka chat,

I went with the Kathmandu Sekuwa, which was tender lamb fillets marinated in Nepalese herbs and spices and slow cooked in clay oven, after a long break our main courses arrived,

we had three main dishes, a chicken, lamb and a prawn dish,

along with a rice with mushroom dish,

I nearly forgot the nan bread, we were full to bursting!

but Diana still had room for a couple of pastries soaked in syrup dish, I have forgotten what they are called,

for myself there was only one sensible choice for dessert, a Caribbean coffee with lashings of rum! the bill came to £112.00 including service charge, and we even had some to take home, no prizes for guessing what I will be eating the next time Diana is on a late shift! arriving home it was feet up for a Midsomer Murder followed by one from the It Ain't Half Hot Mum box set before we were off to bed.

Recently returned to reading your blog after a lengthy absence for various reasons. I was so upset on reading today's blog about the death of your mate Steve. He always looked so fit and healthy in your blog and much younger than his age. Although our paths never crossed here in Thailand, I felt like I knew the guy and the lovely Kai. You and Diana must be devastated and so of course must Kai. My condolences.

Dear Anonymous, many thanks indeed for your kind comments, he and his family had no history of heart disease, and he was indeed fit and healthy, everyday starting with a 5KM run as well as fun and some time club runs, we were all knocked for six when it happened, he is still sorely missed, best regards, Stan and Diana.
