all images © Xavier Casalta, above is “Marcus Aurelius” (2021-22), stippled black ink, 140 x 100 centimetres, being created by Xavier Casalta, on his Instagram account, it is his biggest work so far and took an amazing 2,300 hours over the course of 15 months to complete,

what is also amazing is the fact that the picture and others are made of entirely dots! above a detail of “Marcus Aurelius” in progress, Marcus Aurelius is one of ancient Rome’s most celebrated emperors and philosophers,
