Out For A Walk.

before our Sunday lunch,

jacket on,

and past the snail mail box, but by the time we walked up the hill to the farmers market,

it was so hot I put my jacket in our bag,

we looked at the first stall here, which as usual was Wise Choice Flowers and Plants,

with a nice selection again this week,

including dried flowers, a special for this week, everything 50% off,

just a few stalls here this week,

and this was the one we wanted, selling homemade cakes,

3 for £11.70, so that is today's dessert sorted out!

we passed the mansion,

and made our way to the courtyard,

where Diana ordered a coffee and cake,

for myself, yes you guessed it!

Diana decided on,

one of these,

with a before lunch snack,

refreshments finished we had a look around the garden,

a normal thistle,

and this a huge one,

the gardens now looking so nice that summer is here,

arriving home a read and a sherry,

followed by some spring rolls,

that were huge,

for our main course a roast chicken,

sans gravy for myself, eyes down and tuck in, we were so full we decided on today's cakes for later in the evening to snack on as we watched a few films,

but first a bit of good news, the fry were still here, mum and dad still looking after them, as I mentioned yesterday I knew them as Pelmatochromis kribensis, in tropical fishkeeping they are known as kribs, but some years ago they have been reclassified, and are now known as Pelvicachromis pulcher, they are cichlids a group of fish that when they lay eggs after they have hatched for the first part of the fry's development look after their young, and so far they are doing a sterling job, we started the afternoon with one from Sherlock Holmes, we normally watched Columbo, but out new BT box to replace the one that had broken that we received on 20th. July decided to have a hissy fit and not show any channels from 001 to 331, one of which was Columbo, I shall try it again tomorrow in case it is a problem that effects more people than just us, at Diana's work a new manager has arrived so all of the staff were called in for a couple of hours in the afternoon,

so I watched Life, a bit of a scary dairy one as a new life form in a space station goes mustang, which I followed with a Dutch film with English subtitles,

No Mans Land, AKA Patria, the horror of WWI as seen from the French point of view, graphically done with a good story line, during which Diana arrived home, so after the film our cakes we had bought in the morning were served with lashings of cream,

we rounded off the evening with All Quiet On The Western Front, the 2022 version, it has to be said with a much larger budget that Patria, not that I am making light of that movie, it was very good, back to All Quiet, a great movie, especially at the end of the film, where man's vanity cost so many needles lives, after which we were off to bed.
