Having Watched New Tricks,

we have become quiet used to seeing Jerry's Triumph Stag,

like this one here in red but green in the show, in a new move BMW has applied to register the badge as a European trademark, it was last seen on the Acclaim saloon which disappeared in 1984, so I wonder what BMW have in mind, a new sports, people carrier or luxury car division? in any event I hope they are more successful than the Stag project, although I only knew two owners, they were not at all kind to its reliability, calling their cars Triumph Staggers, because they seem to stagger from one mechanical breakdown to another!

more than a few owners took out the 3.0 litre V8 and dropped in the much more reliable Buick V8 215 cubic inch lump which were at the time used in the Rover 3.5 saloon cars, similar in size the Buick it had the advantage of being aluminium which helped save weight as well,

the problem arose because Triumphs did not have a V8 engine to use in the Stag, so the engineering team chose to take two in line Dolomite engines and bolt them together to make a V8, it appeared the V6 that Triumph did have did not fit the bill, it was a pity that the Triumph V8 was so unreliable, the car could have been so good if it was not for the engine.

Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to
make a great article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get anything done.
