After Our Efforts Yesterday,

to clean around the outside of the house,

today we decided to try a different cleaner, Johnson's Duck Mr. Muscle,

the acid was good, but not as good as I had hoped, hence us trying Mr. Muscle,

so we watered the floor first,

put down some Mr. Muscle, spread it and waited for an hour or so,

it may not look it but it was hot work,

 this bit done,

we did the job in sections, the trial piece at the end finished,

and on to the next,

we both decided the Mr. Muscle was better than the acid, the pathway looked a lot better,

so a scrub before washing the dirt off,

 oh my back!

the only problem with the Mr. Muscle fluid is that it burns when you get it on your feet,

so I let Diana do the next bit,

we did in fact give this bit two goes over with the Mr. Muscle,

the sad news is that in life the difference is so marked,

but it only looks a little different in the pictures, at the end of the day we both had sore backs, blistered hands and burnt feet,

so if you have a moss covered piece of concrete pathway round your house you wish to clean, get some body else to do it! we are out for lunch tomorrow, but on Monday we will be re-equipping ourselves with a new broom, copious supplies of Mr. Muscle and maybe be a pair of Wellingtons for Diana, as an aside we had already tried one of those pressure washers, it removed the fine gravel but the moss refused to budge,

after all of that and our evening meal it was feet up nibble on some fruit and watch a few movies, first up, Wild Wild West, we had watched it before, this is what I wrote then, 'great fun, the producers did at one time think of building the full size mechanical spider, but gave up when they found that one leg they did build weighed in at 10,000 lbs! the story is about Jim West who is a guns-a-blazing former Civil War hero and Artemus Gordon is an inventive U.S. Marshal who excels in disguise, when the United States is threatened by psychotic Confederate Arliss Loveless, President Ulysses Grant teams the duo up to bring him to justice, that is the dry bones of the story but it was great fun to watch',

in the same vein we had also watched Paul, on an American road trip two Brits who are doing the Area51/Roswell convention thing stumble across Paul, an alien, he has to go back home which where our two heroes try to help, great fun with a look at men of science,

now unfortunately the last in the series Waking the Dead, Waterloo, Boyd takes on the case of several homeless teen-age boys who disappeared,at three monthly intervals, between 1979 and 1982, in a strange fact we had already watched some time ago a DVD about the copy cat killer in the UK, the abducted boys were taken and murdered by a sadist imitating Americas first serial killer Henry Holmes,

we watched the DVD (above) about Holmes some time ago, again this was what I wrote then, 'his real name name was Herman M. Mudgett, he was born in 1860 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, after a troubled childhood in 1879, he joined the medical school of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, while enrolled, he stole bodies from the school laboratory, disfiguring the corpses and claiming the unlucky soul had been accidentally killed, conveniently, Holmes had already takes out insurance policies on these “family members" and he would collect on them as soon as their bodies were discovered, his hopes of becoming a doctor were soon dashed when he was expelled at 24 from the university after he was discovered stealing cadavers,

in 1887 H. H. Holmes began working as an assistant at a local drug store, Mrs. Dr. Holden, who ran the drug store at 63rd and Wallace, could not handle the trade any longer and thus needed assistance, it was not long before Holmes seemed to be more the manager of the store and less the prescription clerk, in 1887, Mrs. Dr. Holden vanished without a trace, in short time after, Holmes announced that he had purchased the store from the widow, just prior to her “moving out west.” he bought land opposite and began building his house,

it was an imposing structure of three stories and a basement with false battlements and wooden bay windows that were covered with sheet iron, many times the workforce would be fired - so that no one except Holmes knew the layout of the building that he designed, there were over 60 rooms in the structure and 51 doors that were cut oddly into various walls, and his favourite room- the basement, with it’s dissection table, surgical tools and implements, not to mention it's acid bath and a furnace, meant to look like one used for glass making, but I think you can guess it's real purpose! it was a terrible story to watch, Holmes was completely devoid of any feelings for his victims, watch it if you dare!' after watching Waking the Dead we both said it was a shame that the series had ended, so many mistakes to watch and all of the team likable in their own ways, with that we were off to bed.

Stan,

Suggest you try a high powered hose (gurney) after you apply the chemical treatment. It will save the back, I saw one down in Tesco or Big C on special a few weeks back.

Stan, You only had to ask and I'd have come round and cleaned everything with my jet washer for free. All I ask in return is a drink and some petrol money, sorry, I mean aviation fuel. All the best Alan

Dear Daryle, many thanks for the idea, we tried a high powered hose (gurney) without the chemical treatment but it was ineffective but with the chemical it should work, then even better Alan has offered to call round with his gurney, so today we will buy some more chemical and then hopefully Alan will call, Alan I have tried the number I have for you but the call did not go through, can you give us a call at your leisure? Unlimited supplies of aviation fuel to drink but we have beer and whisky too! but in the meantime I will buy Diana a new brush as well, best regards, Stan and Diana.
