First Thing,

we were off to the market,

so we parked in the Friendship motorbike park,

we both walked in to the market via the Soi Bukaow entrance,

but then went our separate ways, lots of clothes on sale as usual,

there was plenty of time to look around,

I have seen theses before, no not the glasses! at the bottom of them there is a small LED light that flashes and battery to keep it going, all waterproof, so a great way of finding where you left your drink, unless Fred is there as he has one in his glass,

the aquatic store open as usual,

next to it a stall selling squirrels, hamsters, mice and rabbits,

but this was what we came for, cacti, having killed off most other families of plants I thought why should cacti be exempt from my attempts to keep them alive, then killing them with kindness?

after buying a few I settled down for an ice coffee, then Diana returned with some fresh fruit and some really exciting news, the shoes she had seen last week in another store were here, the good news being they were 150 baht cheaper here, so that was alright then, just spend 250 baht and think of the savings!

next stop the aquatic store to buy some gravel for our miniature cactus garden, we both love the pink dog house,

the bad news was that I wanted to buy some brown gravel to sprinkle over the top of the compost, but the store did not have any, so a drive along the builders merchants and garden centres along Sumkivitt was next,

 lots of bamboo,

 but no fine gravel,

it is the rainy season, so there are not many people about, the roads were deserted,

another garden centre, but still no luck,

so home and make up the soil,

a mixture of gravel and compost, notice my latest failure, the brown withered bonsai tree, one has gone from strength to strength, the other, well just look at it!

 nearly fill the container,

 smooth it out,

my next victims, priced between 20 to 50 baht each,

carefully take them out of their pots using a plastic bag to avoid being pricked by one of their many spines,

and hey presto, fill in around the plants with compost

all done, next a brush up,

to remove all of the soil I had dropped over them,

we were given some gravel at the market, it is this brown gravel sort of colour that we wanted, so we will try again tomorrow in the aquatic store in Naklua,

although it was Tuesday we decided on a night out, so glad rags on in the evening and we were off,

I forget who, but a friend told us that the new seafood restaurant on Thepprisitt was a nice place to eat, we both fancied some seafood so off we went, called Pattaya Seafood it is about 400 yards before the end of Thepprisitt as you are going away from Sumkivitt on the right hand side,

of course it was just our luck to arrive when there was a power cut!

there was some lighting, but not over the seating area,

so we had a romantic evening for two by candle light, for starters we ordered fish cakes and some crab fried rice,

Diana took a self portrait of us,

we then asked one of the waiters to do the honours,

buy now our next order, prawn tempura had arrived,

followed by prawns and asparagus, by now the power had come back on, which was a shame as it was quite nice eating by candle light,

Diana also ordered a fish dish,

which was huge, all in all a nice change of venue, the bill without drinks came to 900 baht,

the lights now on, we took a doggie bag back with us, there was just too much fish to eat,

just after we arrived back Mike and Riza called in, so we had a few drinks, whilst we chatted the evening away putting the world to rights we watched a couple of documentaries in the back ground, then we watched a 3D IMAX film,

all to soon it was early morning so we said our goodbyes to Mike and Riza,

during the day we watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, I hate to say it but I am going to have to watch it again, I nodded off half way through it!

we had Atlantis A World Beyond Words on in the back ground whilst Mike and Riza were with us whilst we chatted, great images,

followed by Ocean Oasis, in a similar vein,

for a look at 3D we watched Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk, great 3D effects which we all enjoyed, after Mike and Riza left it was quite late so for us we were off to bed.
