We Started The Day On Jomtien Beach,

parking on the beach side of the road,

this is the view looking out to sea,

that is almost opposite the Surf Kitchen,

the frontage always looks nice with a display of orchids,

Steve and Kai both settled for a fresh coconut,

 our breakfasts arrived,

burger and chips for Steve, spring rolls and sesame seed deep fried prawns for myself,

we had lots of places to visit, one of which had a nice marine aquarium,

the chiller which is needed out here to keep the inhabitants cool,

the girls were fascinated by the lobster, though I am not sure their interest was looking at it as a pet or lunch!

there was a nice selection of fish as well,

next stop Central Festival, a mysterious hand holds out a 100 baht note from one of the banks there,

a quick picture of the view over the bay,

and naturally we had to call in to Swensens,

where some new members of staff were being shown the ropes,

 ice creams all round,

 the girls were really happy,

then it was glad rags on as we left home in the evening,

and arrived at Steve and Kai's favourite restaurant,

the Ruen Thai on Second Road,

as we made our way in to the restaurant there was a intricate example of fruit carving in the entrance,

we were the first to arrive,

and by telephoning to reserve a table we were the nearest table to the stage,

 'Cheers!',

 our starters arrived,

 then even more,

the advantage of sitting near the stage,

is that there are two shows nightly,

one starting at 7.40 and the other at 11.00,

but check first in case times change,

as well as the traditional Thai musicians, there are dancers,

 keeping again to traditional costumers,

 and make up,

 the view from our table,

many years ago this was one of the first restaurants that Steve, Duncan and myself visited when all three of us were in Thailand, since then I have to say time hast flown past,

back to our meal, the tom yum goong had arrived,

 which Kai expertly served,

 followed by the main courses,

 which included this huge snapper,

the meal of course was excellent,

 with music,

  and dancing to accompany it,

Diana took a couple of pictures,

I did say our table was close to the stage,

another group of dancers in a different costume from the North of Thailand,

 the meal finished,

we thanked Steve and Kai for settling the bill which was extremely kind of them, then home feet up to watch a movie,

we decided on the The Three Musketeers, I am sure we all know the story, but this one features gallons supported by balloons taking the battle in to the skies, after the film it was past midnight, so for all of us we were off to bed.
