I Thought I Would Bring The Last Few Days Up To Date,

in one post,

after arriving home from our travels, Diana had the next day off from work, the following day a late shift, so off to meet her from the bus stop and home,

the next day another late shift for Diana, for myself it was houseman,

so shopping for me whilst Diana was at work, luckily Diana had written me a list,

in the evening as it was Friday into the club where tennis was still being played late at night, I meet up with Steve for a few,

then waited for Diana to arrive from work and walked her home,

on Saturday alone home again, so a sherry,

  followed by my evening meal,

a mini pork pie and a cheese and tomato sandwich,

in case you are wondering the page of salmon flies is a book marker, taken from Blacker's Art of Fly-Making, after my meal a walk to the bus stop and we were home,

on Sunday Diana was at home, the first of 2 days off in a row, so a roast it was then, for today a smoked ham,

 'Cheers!',

my telephone made a strange sound, the wonders of modern technology, the problem for myself is that when something like this makes a sound I have not heard before, it is normally its dying gasp, but so far all seems well,

 for dessert a berry roll,

which was delicious, in the evening we starting watching Peaky Blinders from season 1, episode 1, and good it was too,

on Monday Diana had another day off, so a walk in the park it was then,

as you enter from our end of it on the left a new stand of trees has been planted,

we walked past the rear of the mansion,

 looking towards the hill,

in the distance our destination, the new swimming lake,

the squirrel which has been here as long as I can remember,

has at last had a new lick of paint,

 we arrived at the lake,

and for anyone wishing to give it a try here is the legend,

we decided on a coffee before going shopping,

so off to the newly finished garden and its cafe,

although this is not it, the building is at the top of a straw bale workshop,

 which you can join,

beside it there are a number of beds,

this one with ornamental grasses, which lead to a great confusion between Diana and myself, when having just watched a program about how at the moment gardeners are discovering how nice grasses are, and are using them in border displays, well a few weeks ago we passed a couple of restaurants with grasses on display in window boxes at the edge of their outside seating area, as we passed I said to Diana, 'look ornamental grass',

unfortunately Diana misheard me, and spent some time wondering what 'mental grass' was,

 one of the flower beds,

 it looked, and was spiky,

the gardeners here are certainly doing a great job,

 a work in  progress,

we stopped at the new cafe,

 and decided to sit outside,

 overlooking the garden,

latte for both of us and a cake for Diana,

 the sky looked ominous,

 as dark clouds rolled in,

then this cheeky chappie showed up,

so Diana gave him some cake,

 which he enjoyed,

coffee finished we passed one of the gardners hard at work,

and started on our way out of the park,

again past the rear of the mansion,

a quick pose on our way out of the park, then a walk to Waitrose, we were nearly out of milk, more importantly we were critically low on sherry, port and spiced rum, all of which were not on my shopping list of a few days ago,

arms aching with several bottles, and the milk, we made our way back into the park on our way home, in the evening our usual snack, then on with Peaky Blinders, it really is so good watching it again, I had forgotten so much of it from the first time around, as the midnight hour approached we were then off to bed.
