On Our Way Home

the last morning of our travels,

the day dawned bright and sunny,

before leaving Bath,

there was one more place we wanted to visit,

no not the one with clowns and animals,

this one, which is a historic street of large townhouses in the city of Bath, forming a circle with three entrances,

designed by the prominent architect John Wood, the Elder, it was built between 1754 and 1768,

and is regarded as a pre-eminent example of Georgian architecture, and has featured as a backdrop in so many films,

photographs taken and we are on the 135 mile trip to Beckenham, and what a great time we had, as an aside the trip was 1,712 miles in all, we started with a full tank and we filled the tank 3 times, the last just a couple of miles from home, the total fuel bill came to £217.00, we average 52.2 MPG at a average speed of 42 MPH, I have not worked out the cost of staying at hotels and food, but it was all worth it, so many wonderful sights to see and being pampered by B&B owners just made everything so nice, and just in case you thought all of that food has made us fat,

I did not know that Diana has an app on her telephone that measures how far you walk, Diana sent the above to me is the screen shot above our day in Bath, we walked 7.43 kilometers, which seems to be about the average, so we are burning some of the calories off at least! Tomorrow I will start to catch up on the few days we have been back in Beckenham, I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs as much as we have taking them.

Hi Stan
Glad you had a good holiday, I enjoyed looking at the pictures. Still the same old in Pattaya, immigration getting more and more stringent and the pound worth less by the day. Thunderstorm in progress as I type, but it's reduced the temperature by a few degrees. Take care.

Dear John S, one of the many reasons we left Thailand was the ever changing immigration rules, normally Diana as she is my wife 'Piggy backs' on my retirement extension, but one year we were told it could not be done, Diana must have 800,000 in her bank as well as mine, next year we were told that it is not so, only I have to have 800,000, but who knows if the following year we both have to have 800,000 in both accounts, tying up 1.6 million for 5 months of the years? Any way we are both glad we are out of Thailand, in truth it has been kind to us over the years but we are so happy that we settled here, hope the rainstorm stops soon, as it happens we had a huge storm over here, best regards, Stan and Diana.
