I Dropped Diana Off At Work,

first thing this morning,

after a few ZZZZ's, I was out, past the snail mail box, where some of the residents are having a few repairs done,

I walked past the green,

and the now overgrown front graveyard, on to a number 227 bus,

alighting at Bromley market square, past The Partridge,

across the road and into Barclays Bank, I had a few things to do there,

business finished and out past Primark,

past a few of the market stalls,

and into LIDL, stocks of spiced rum had yet again reached critical level, 3 bottle and some food later and I was out to my favorite stall,

the fresh seafood stall,

I had a quick look at what was on offer,

the prawns tempting,

as were the scallops,

but this is what I was here for, a small whelks to snack on the afternoon and a large pot of both cockles and crayfish tails, £16.50 and I was on my way to the 227 bus stop,

alighting I went via the rear of the church,

past the graveyard,

the path that runs through it,

then through the green and home,

entering the park, Foxgrove Lodge on the right, arriving home I had some news from the shop, every week for the past 25 years a lorry loaded with frozen and live food for ornamental fish and live plants and aquarium care products for home aquariums arrived in England, except last week! some jobs worth decided he did not like the paperwork and said everything would have to be destroyed, the lorry sent back to Holland, what a total waste of good products, and has shocked the entire aquatic retail trade, today the shop received this message:

Subject: Update on last weeks shipment

PLEASE NOTE: THIS INFORMATION IS NOT REGARDING THIS WEEK DELIVERY. THIS IS JUST AN UPDATE REGARDING LAST WEEK.

 Dear customer,

We would like to provide you with a further update regarding the ongoing situation with the freight of last week.

At present, our lorry still remains held at Hoek van Holland. Unfortunately, there is still no clarity as to which authority is responsible for reviewing the case or what steps are required for us to regain access to the vehicle and its contents.
This ongoing uncertainty is extremely frustrating and disruptive for us as a company.

On a more positive note, we are pleased to inform you that this week’s shipment has successfully arrived in the UK yesterday and all goods are scheduled for delivery today.
While frozen and dry feed products are not included this week, we are happy to confirm that live fish food, aquarium plants and aquarium care products are on board and will reach you as expected.

For next week we have decided to postpone the shipment of frozen and dry food products again, pending formal clarification from APHA and Port Health.
The current situation has caused widespread concern among our peers/colleagues in the industry and makes the import of these product categories into the UK unpredictable and risky.

We want to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to resolve this matter quickly and responsibly.

However, we are not willing to risk losing another vehicle (and freight) for an extended period—nor do we wish to leave our valued customers without essential products such as live food and plants.

Thank you for your continued trust and understanding. We will keep you informed as soon as we receive any new information.

and there are politicians saying that red tape is being cut to make business easier for companies! I think not, on a happier note, I started mounting a few photographs,

all ready for the winter seasons print competitions at the club, before I had finished Diana arrived home so a coffee and a chat before our evening meal, which we followed with a Outback Opal Hunter and a Deadliest Catch, we then decided to start on a series, as there was not a Midsomer Murder on this evening,

so a series titled Unforgotten it was, and enthralling it was too, very skillfully written, we watched 3 episodes before Diana was off to bed, then for myself a Have I Got A Bit More News For You, before I too was off to bed.

Wonderful post and beautiful photos! I am a baby boomer living in Montreal, Canada. My paternal grandparents were born in Kent...Dartford and Dover, respectively. Lovely post, thank you so much for sharing.

Dear Linda's Relaxing Lair, glad that you like the photographs, if there are any you would like to put on your blog please do so, a small mention would be nice. We often go to the coat in the summer time, Dover is one place we did not visit, but it is on the cards for this year! best regards, Stan and Diana.
