Our Second To Last Day In Thailand,

the time has just flown past,

the day saw us in Chatuchak Market

but not normally in the plant section,

this is where we usually go,

the aquatic section,

here on the pavement,

four aquariums placed end to end,

each with a flowerhorn cichlid in,

they are very aggressive, so one per aquarium, not sure that I like them, but out here they are hugely popular,

also on the pavement bags of fish,

and stands with more on,

trays as well,

as opposed to normal shops with display like this one,

the fish are sold individually, or if small 10, 20, 30 or more per bag,

aquarium accessories are also sold here like decorative wood,

and of course gravel,

the best of both worlds, a shop with a pavement presence,

I was surprised to see so many large tortoises here,

we now went inside the market,

all the shops here,

dealing in aquatic fish, plants,

 accessories,

and equipment,

some like this one,

specilsing,

in just one type of fish,

in this case Siamese fighting fish, (Betta splendens),

all of the fish here do not occur naturally,

they have all been selectively bred,

to grow much larger fins than nature intended,

and in many more,

colour variations,

we made our way through the coldwater section,

koi carp housed in large plastic or fiberglass ponds,

now we have arrived in the section that deals in larger aquarium species,

like these South American Arowanas, by now we fancied a drink,

so a coffee and cake it was,

in a outdoor cafe,

by the plant section,

that had a nice selection of Boinsia,

I did not enquire as for the prices,

but I have to say they looked very nice indeed,

coffee and cake finished, we made a move back to our hotel,

in the evening we were out for our second to last night in Bangkok,

we made our way to the river,

we had a table on the upper deck,

and were soon underway,

during the cruise there was a selection of dancers,

entertaining the diners,

I snapped away as we progressed,

there was a continuous buffet,

as the riverside glided by,

we had a cocktail 'Cheers!',

they were so nice,

we had another couple,

well I just had to,

twice!

each table had a candle to add to the romantic evening,

many of the riverside temples illuminated for the cruises on the river,

as well as hotels,

and shopping centers,

some with characters on the roof,

the food was just so nice,

we went up to the tables so many times, all of the photographs below Diana took or a member of the ship's crew did on Diana's telephone,

Ah!

one of the dancers,

and the entertainers,

up for the food, again!

and another cocktail,

then the fun began, as we approached a bridge, "all on the floor please", I thought they were joking,

but they were not!

here is the video, the problem was this part of the river is tidal, and it was high tide, plus the river was in flood due to massive rain storms further inland, and the fun part? we had to do it again on the way back! a night to remember indeed, when we watch the video we still can not stop laughing, after which, we made our way back to our hotel, before we were off to bed.
