The Next Day, I Decided To Visit A Temple,

I had never been to before,

it is located almost opposite the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on the Sumkivitt Highway, it is called Wat Nong Yai, and is often overlooked by visitors to Pattaya, myself included!

for myself it was unusual,

as it was totally white,

unlike the archway and one next door to it,

and this building, also next door,

another place of worship here,

the entrance flanked by 2 elephants,

behind them a pond,

and the rear of the white temple,

in the pond, there is a representation of the Naga, a divine, serpent-like creature from Buddhist and Hindu mythology,

and fearsome he looked too!

as indeed did this entrance,

above it a image of Buddha,

as I was photographing the temple,

a monk walked past,

and was soon in conversation with another,

I should mention that most temples here have a section of dogs, pets that people give up on and donate them to the temple, I say donate, chuck them over the temple wall is what I have been told really happens,

but here the grounds are patrolled by cats,

not a temple dog in sight,

this one just walked past me,

and became intent on something happening in the distance,

it was another cat, it is strange that there are no dogs here,

a last look at the white temple,

as I made my way on to the Sumkivitt Highway, over the road the Bangkok Pattaya hospital,

next to the temple,

the entrance to Mini Siam, I waited here for my taxi back to the hotel as a landmark like this makes it easier for the taxi to pick me up.
