one man's trash is another man's treasure,
and here are a couple of examples to prove it,
in Massachusetts, an 83-year-old man with a habit of collecting thrown out
scratch-offs, collected the discarded scratchers, one of them was a
$1 million winner,
or how about New Yorker Elizabeth Gibson who walked by
a pile of rubbish on Broadway, she noticed a 38-by-51 inch painting among the
bags and took it home, she later found out it was painted by Rufino Tamayo, which had been stolen 20 years ago and had a file on it
with the FBI, the painting was valued at $1 million and had a $15,000 finder’s
fee attached to it Elizabeth returned it to the owner and collected the finders
fee, in the UK we have a saying, I am not sure if other counties have the same
or similar, 'where there's muck, there's brass', it appears
to be true, for more tales of treasures in junk have a look here.
