More Council Madness!

this time from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, it started the inquiry last June after Mr Holden, a Tory representing Benenden and Cranbrook ward, 'popped out' to a drinks machine during the discussion of a planning application, in his words he was gone for less than 25 seconds, well lets be generous and say he was gone for 50 seconds, what did he miss? he was followed out of the chamber by a monitoring officer and told to return immediately, planning boss and fellow Tory councillor Elizabeth Thomas then said he would not be allowed to vote on the application because 'he had not been present for the entire debate', well this is how crazy it can get, He was reported to the council's standards assessment sub-committee after refusing to back down and putting his vote in regardless, today, after being cleared of misconduct by an independent panel, he insisted the situation was 'ridiculous', cost to the rate payers of Tunbridge Wells for the inquiry? £7,371 I wonder where the council gets all of it's money from, ah I remember from the people they are serving - us!
