The Second Part Of Our Day Started With A Call From Philip,

so we made a move to the Punch & Judy,

also I have published this part first instead of second, sorry about that but it is a pain to swap it arround! we settled down to watch the rest of the celebrations there,

by now the band was marching,

as it  made its way along the Mall,

the band of the Royal marines was also in attendance,

 meanwhile outside the Palace,

 gun carriages were being assembled,

as the Queen made her way back to the Palace,

accompaianed by Lifeguard troops on horseback,

 in all of their finery,

 the Royal salute fired,

as the Queen continued Her journey

 under and through Admiralty Arch,

 followed by the Lifeguard troops,

as She smiles at the crowds,

 the route lined by guards,

 not long to go now,

as the Royal entourage goes round the Queen Victoria Memorial,

the Queens carriage was shared with her son Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall,

after the procession well wishers were slowly led towards the Palace,

 the numbers were almost countless,

I have read in the newspapers that over one million people attended the spectacle,

I think everyone was amazed at the numbers,

slowly the crowd made its way to the Palace,

the stage from yesterdays concert had been removed, but the canopy was left to give some shelter to the band should it rain,

the Royal Standard high on the flag pole, meaning the Queen is in residence,

the crowd eagerly waiting for the Royal families balcony appearance,

 as were the troops below,

 then there she was,

 accompanied by Her family,

 she waves to the crowd,

if there was one disappointment in the celebrations it was that Her husband, Prince Philip was taken ill and could not be with Her, but I have seen on the television he watched everything from His bed in the hospital and is expected to make a full recover, we all wish Him well,

the crowd went wild with cheers,

 the Royal family,

the crowds in The Mall bigger than ever,

then the Royals looked towards Admiralty Arch,

there in the distance aircraft were making their way towards Buckinghan Palce,

in the lead a Lancaster Bomber, made famous from 617 Squadron, the Dambusters,

 the Queen looked on enthusiastically,

as the flight neared, the bomber escorted by Spitfires and Hurricanes,

 almost over head,

 then came the jets,

 switching on the smoke generators,

 as they neared the Palace,

leaving trails of red, white and blue,

 then they were gone,

outside the Palace, soldiers were preparing for a Royal salute,

 guns at the ready,

under the watchful eye of their commander,

 a volley was fired,

 reloaded,

 then another fired,

it must have been quiet loud on the balcony,

it certainly was for the crowd,

 reloaded,

 and another volley was fired,

 all went well,

 for everyone,

the Queen gives the troops a wave,

then I witnessed something I had never seen,

or even heard of before, the troops put down their weapons,

removed their bearskin helmets and saluted the Queen,

helmets back on then back to the barracks,

as the Royal Family make their way back inside,

and the crowds make their way back home, I know I have put a lot of pictures of our Royal Family on the blog, but like most people in the UK we think very highly of our Royal family, I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as we did watching all of this on television,

in the evening we watched a repeat of the concert, with a huge thunderstorm outside,

luckily the rain did not last long, then for us we were off to bed.
