we needed a few things for tonight's bar-b-q,
blue skies for a change,
although it has not rained the skies have looked a little overcast at times in the last few days,
we then made a move to Walking Street, passing the partially demolished buildings,
that once house the Coyote ago-go and many restaurants,
the demolition now almost reaching the narrow part of Soi Blues Factory,
but this is where we were going,
at the end of Walking Street there are a number of stalls selling fresh seafood,
prawns, they will do for us,
there are shellfish as well,
we also wanted to buy some crabs,
today it seemed that everyone wanted some seafood, the place was packed with customers,
arriving home the 5 buds we saw a couple of days ago had flowered,
an nice they looked too,
they are called stinky cactus, (Stapelia) because they give out a scent that attracts insects, not for the plant to eat but to fertilize them, if you look carefully there is in fact a fly on one of the flowers,
that has almost made it to the middle of one,
and then he was gone,
later in the afternoon we went to Soi Bukaow,
to pick up a few things for a friend of ours,
then called into the coffee stall on the way back home,
we also called into the market,
to pick up a bag of cooked small mussels,
we decided against clams,
the sweetcorn looked tempting,
and guess who we bumped into?
Riza who was out shopping as well,
arriving home we were outside for the barby, first garlic bread,
then lit the fire,
lots of smoke as usual, but it soon caught,
then on with the prawns,
lots of prawns!
we were then in for a seafood feast,
'Cheers!',
Diana then turned the plate around and said they were all looking at me,
so I turned it back again,
one thing about eating mussel is that the empty shells take up so much room, so I pop them into each other which saves a lot of space on the waste plate,
I decided to do all of the hard work first when it came to the prawns,
the aftermath of a seafood supper,
then a real surprise, unknown to me Diana had been busy in the kitchen,
and baked a base of puff pastry covered with apples,
which she then glazed and topped with ice cream, it was so nice, so delicious, we listened to music until the midnight hour, then we were off to bed.
