but in the evening we were out,
so wrap up against the cold and we were off,
during the week we had emailed The White Horse in Beckenham High Street, to reserve a table for two, but it was not to be, two members of staff behind the counter looked at each other and said, 'sorry we do not know anything about bookings, but if you can find a table for two take a seat', we looked around but there were no free tables, so out we walked,
strangely enough we had chatted about the fish and chip shop as we passed it, so we decided on a fish and chip supper, but I had to take a photograph of this nicely illuminated building as we passed, it was a gentlemen's hairdressing saloon,
we arrived at the restaurant, which also does a take away service, The Big Catch fish and Chip Shop,
our starters arrived,
calamari rings for Diana,
scallops and bacon for myself,
on to our mains, sea bass for Diana, 2 fillets,
and lemon sole for myself,
we ordered an extra portion of chips as my meal came with rice, and a couple of gherkins,
'Cheers!', the meal was excellent,Diana commented the food was as good as we would expect in a 4* restaurant it really was so nice,
if you are walking down the High Street this is the sign to look for,
great chalk picture of a cod,
ta-da! the shop is opposite Lidl, the meal including wine and soft drinks came to £65.00 which may seem a lot for a fish and chip supper, but the food was so nice that we will be back for many more visits, arriving home it was feet up for a couple from the Poirot box and then for us we were off to bed.
