The Start Of A New Year,

so for us out for a walk,

but instead of turning left to go into town,

 we turned right,

 to go into the park,

 for a walk around,

difficult to see, but there is a parakeet in there somewhere,

  and there is his silhouette,

 we made our way uphill,

past one of the big oaks that survived the big storm of 1987,

 looking downhill,

and a panorama at the top,

on Wimbledon Common, they have Wombles, and in Beckenham Place Park, we have Tribbles, like the parakeets that live here that escaped from captivity, the Tribbles escaped on the return of the USS Enterprise, one shot out between Diana and Myself as we were walking through the park,

and as I approached, curled into it's usual soft purring ball, as they do when they feel threatened,

leaving it alone to join it's family, we continued our walk,

which way to go? the park is over 240 acres, so lots of walks to choose from,

we decided to go towards the Mansion House in the distance,

as it was a Bank Holiday, there were lots of families out and about,

 looking towards Beckenham,

  now towards the lake,

 the sun was low,

looking towards it, the silhouette of some of the trees in the park,

the last time we were here there were so many crows on the ground it was almost untrue,

but today the vast majority of irresponsible dog owners in defiance of park rules let their dogs run riot, as packs of them joined to terrorize the crows and small children, so the crows stayed in the trees, the children comforted by their parents, the dog owners saying, “My Dog Would Never Bite Anybody” may be not, until they run in a pack, and just think what would happen if the pack came across a defenseless Tribble?

as we finished our walk the sun was going down,

as we said goodbye to the Mansion House, arriving home we had a treat as Peter from Scotland called on the telephone, so we had a good chat, after our evening meal a few from celebratory The Chase, where in two successive shows the celebrities won £100,000 and £80,000 respectively for their favorite charities,

we rounded the evening off with a chiller, The Silence of the Lambs, although I am not a fan of horror movies, this one is just so good, and with the end of that we were off to bed.
