Sunday Lunch Time,

and time for a sherry and a read,

the latest issue of Private Eye it was,

next a drizzle of lemon,

on a crayfish tail salad, with sliced avocado, red and yellow peppers, cucumber and diced spring onions,

naturally as it was Easter, a lamb roast dinner, with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself, 'Cheers!',

and for dessert what could be better,

than a black cherry Bakewell sponge pudding with cream? delicious,

after our meal we were so full, and it was time for feet up for a afternoon and evening of oldie films, the Columbo's that were playing we had watched just a couple of months before, so firstly Diana decided on The Graduate from 1967, Diana barely recognized Dustin Hoffman, Ben, played by him, has recently graduated college, with his parents now expecting great things from him, at his "Homecoming" party, Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his father's business partner, has Ben drive her home, which leads to an affair between the two, the affair eventually ends, but comes back to haunt him when he finds himself falling for Elaine, Mrs. Robinson's daughter, and what a great soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel,

we followed that with a film we had not watched before, The Lady Vanishes, British filmmaking at its best, not everyone's cup of tea but we enjoyed watching it, during which we had a evening snack,

a Easter egg of course! you may have noticed I am not smiling, yesterday evening my top dental plate went mustang, the front two teeth snapped off, so I am now reduced to giving everyone a spine tingling chill every time I give a toothless grin, we rounded off the evening with a old favorite,

The Cruel Sea, as I mentioned when I watched it before it was made all the more realistic as our English literary master, Mr. Nesbit, did in fact serve on a corvette similar to the Compass Rose, a great, if only in British eyes film, after which as Diana has a early shift tomorrow we were off to bed.
