Jumping Origami!

you do not get to say that very often,

but here they are, Japanese paper engineer Haruki Nakamura designs and makes these delightful toys using simple materials,

this is really neat, and so cute, a friendly armadillo curls into a self-protective ball at the touch of a finger,

and a sleepy boy emerges, ready to sleepwalk, in “Astral Projection.” Nakamura uses rubber bands and carefully held points of paper tension to spark the jumpy movements of his characters, and sells kits so you can make your own endless entertainment,

the artist only sells within Japan on his website, but this Penguin Bomb toy is available on Amazon, and no I am not on commission, it is that I have never seen jumping origami before,

and if you like jumping origami, here is a video of more of his amazing jumping paper toys.
