I Am Only Making One Post Today,

as I was up early and on my way to join the other OAP's,

who were queueing for last minuet food shopping, arriving home as usual the crow called by,

and as it was Sunday Diana was home, in full Christmas mode,

Diana had decided to start wrapping her Christmas presents,

and there were lots of them!

as well as her Christmas outfit she was wearing antlers,

lighting the first set of Christmas candles,

Ah! we just had to have a selfie,

Diana dreaming of a white Christmas,

more candles,

and a sherry,

'Cheers!',

I had forgotten to open the bubbly advent calendar,

so I am going to have to play catch up again,

pineapple juice for Diana,

as our starters arrived,

first bubbly,

'Cheers!',

and of course a second, well I had to catch up!

for today gammon ham, sans gravy for myself,

'Cheers!',

as Diana had the antlers I put on my hat, which Jim and Cher kindly brought over to Thailand for us, by the way Jim, if you are reading this in the great move and computer crash we have mislaid you email and postal address, if you have time could you please email them to us?

'Cheers!', with the red,

toffee cream gateau with fresh cream for dessert, then feet up for a few films,

Diana asked to watch Dial M for Murder

followed by Bad Day at Black Rock

we rounded the film fest off with Dr. Phibes Rises Again, and with the end of that we were off to bed.

We see London being moved up to tier 4 on lockdown and know you were out for food this morning early. Looks like new strain is more contagious by about a third. You both need to be extremely careful and get your vaccinations as soon as possible. Diana needs to be super cautious at work and bus so she is not exposed. We know you folks are smart and careful but this stuff is more deadly and spreading easier than original strain....so be careful and do not take any unnecessary risks. Stay safe. John & Alley

Dear John and Alley, I did go shopping this morning, I will make a post about the experience tomorrow, suffice to say trying to beat the rush by being the first OAP. (old age pensioner) in the queue did not work, the queue to get into one store was so long it beggared belief! more to follow tomorrow! best regards, Stan and Diana.

Dear John and Alley, I am not sure about the new strain or at least the percentage of it rate of contagion, Carl Heneghan, Professor of Evidence Based Medicine at Oxford University's Nuffield Department of Primary Care, expressed scepticism over the 70 per cent figure. He said: 'I've been doing this job for 25 years and I can tell you can't establish a quantifiable number in such a short time frame.' He added 'every expert is saying it's too early to draw such an inference'. Professor Heneghan said there was no doubt this time of the year, the 'height of the viral season', was a difficult time for the NHS. But he said failure to put out the basis of the figures was undermining public trust. And of course here is the rub, who do you trust? for a full look at the article have a look here,

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9073765/Scientists-call-clarity-claim-new-Covid-19-variant-strain-70-contagious.html

but suffice to say we are both being very careful, as far as vaccinations are concerned who knows? although I am over seventy I fall into the fourth group from the top of the list to be vaccinated from the governments list, so I am guessing I will have a long wait! best regards, Stan and Diana.

Dear Stanley &Diana-still a lot to learn about the COVID-19 virus and long term effects on those infected. Key is being cautious and knowledgeable about best course of protective action. We wish you both a wonderful Christmas and good health/happiness in the New Year. Warm Regards, John & Alley
