Time For Our Sunday Lunch,

first a coffee in our room,

Diana was not sure what to wear today,

the agony of choice!

a quick pose,

and we were ready to go, walking of course,

down to the park,

past the Eye,

over the stream, or I should say the River Bourne,

and up the hill,

it seems strange, every time we want to walk somewhere we are at the top of one hill, and the place we want to visit is at the top of the hill next door, still all of this walking must be good,

we were soon near the restaurant,

which is a part of The Green House,

the restaurant itself is called the Arbor,

we were shown to our table in the middle of the bay window over looking the garden,

Diana decided on a cocktail, for myself a sherry,

'Cheers!',

Diana chose a cocktail named raspberry smash,

I also decided on a pre-meal glass of bubbly,

'Cheers!' from Diana,

I nearly forgot the red!

Diana is starting to like the occasional cocktail,

our starters arrived,

Diana choose chestnut mushroom & tarragon pate, cheese & onion scone, with chutney,

for myself,

cured chalk stream trout, pastrami spices served on toasted sourdough,

time to start on the red,

and a relax before our main course arrives,

Diana went with the roast turkey breast, pigs in blanket,

along with roast potatoes, turkey gravy and buttered vegetables,

for myself,

a Walter Rose 8oz sirloin steak with chunky chips, mushroom and tomato,

time to tuck in,

after a long break,

Christmas pudding brulee with a ginger snap cookie

when I saw this I just had to have a glass, it was a Peller Family Estate Riesling icewine 2015 at £12.50 for just a 75 ml glass it is not cheap, but what a treat,

regular readers may remember when we bought a bottle of icewine when we were in Germany, in July 2016, having sampled it then and later with Steve when we returned to the UK I just had to savour the wine again, you can buy the wine here at Harvey Nicholas, but remember the price quoted is for a half bottle of 375 ml,

Diana tried just a sip,

but it was not to her taste, what a fabulous meal, the bill came to a tad over £140.00 a bit more than we would normally pay, but then we do not normally eat at a restaurant that holds 2 Rosettes awarded by the AA and also a Michelin Plate,

we were so full,

it was lucky we were going downhill,

heading towards the Eye,

and the pier,

time for a few selfies,

it was a beautiful calm day,

the sea with hardly a wave, what a change from the storm,

it was so bright I brought out the sunglasses,

back to the hut,

we had our music, books and cards,

late in the evening we made a move to the hotel, watched some television, then for us we were off to bed.
