I Am Only Making One Post Today,

and this will be the last one for some time,

as we will be leaving at 05.30 AM tomorrow for our trip to Bournemouth, for a weeks stay there,

the fox and the crows called around this morning,

the bad news for the crows was that this was not the fox with the injured leg, he was quite capable of chasing them off,

by the time I had gone downstairs with the rubbish, he was tired out,
so a rest was in order,

he kept a wary eye on me in case I got too close,

rubbish dumped in the bins, and I was off for some diesel, just my luck, a lorry stuck in the entrance to the petrol station,

having waited for the truck to sort itself out and filling up, I then joined another queue at the car wash, it appears that everyone and his brother all decided to have their cars cleaned today,

home at last, all set for the off tomorrow, Steve called round for a coffee in the afternoon,

after he left looking out of the window the fox was waiting for a few peanuts,

it was time for my evening meal,

but no sherry or wine tonight as
I am driving first thing tomorrow,

for tonight the remaining scallop shell of seafood and rolled slices of smoked salmon,

and I had to light the candles, I spent the evening reading, just before10.00 Diana called, so off to the bus stop, then home, feet up for a chat and a coffee, before we were off to bed.

Hello Stanley-I was rather impressed with the earrings that Diana ordered from Pandora. I decided to buy a pair for Alley as she is having her 45th birthday on Jan 2nd. The box arrived but there was only one, not two hoops. And the hoop they sent was for a child. I contacted the customer service via web and they researched the order finding they did ship the wrong product. So they reshipped a new package today...lets hope that it is the correct set of hoops.
Hope you both have a safe and fun trip. Sounds like fun. We are on lockdown so hard here really cant go over to the coast at this time. We hope to visit the coast (about 1 1/2 hours drive) in JAN. (Tampa, FL)
Also I am sending over a story of a big tree here in America...that is 3200 years old. You might enjoy it! The pictures won't come thru to you but the text should. You can look the pictures up on the web if you have interest.
Safe trip and all smiles to both of you. John and Alley oh, also you do not need to publish this one as Alley would find out what her birthday present would be but wanted to just acknowledge that you both have great taste in earrings!

What a testimony to Mother Natures wonders! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!
Giant Tree

3200 YEARS IN ONE PHOTOGRAPH

~ AT SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK ~

Not every tree has a nickname, but 'The President' has earned it.

This giant sequoia stands at 247 feet tall & is estimated to be over 3,200 years old.

Imagine, this tree was already 700 years old during the height of ancient Greece's civilization and

1200 years old when Jesus lived while Rome was well into its rule of most of the western world and points beyond.

The trunk of The President measures 27 feet across, with 2 BILLION needles from base to top.

Because of its unbelievable size, this tree has never been photographed in its entirety, until now.

National Geographic photographers have worked along with scientists to try and create the first

photo that shows T he President in all its glory.

They had to c limb the tree with pulleys and levers and took thousands of photos.

Of those, they selected 126 and stitched them together to get this incredible portrait of The President.

And here it is:

The man standing near the trunk of the tree is a good indicator of the tree's size.

Incredible, isn't it?
