to ask if they could call to pick up our television and repair it,
the sound was bad to say the least, and today as arranged for 400 baht two technicians arrived and turned on the television, now I thought they would take it back to the repair centre, put it on some test rig to diagnose what was wrong, order the spare parts, fit them and then return with the television, I was so wrong! by playing with the remote control the technician open a menu in the television where it ran it's own diagnostic check!
the television pinpointed it's own problem, so on to the sofa it went, the back opened,
to reveal the workings of the set,
and this was the unit that was faulty, the technician used his mobile telephone to photograph the part with it's part number, as the screen was being put back on the wall a call came in, the part was in-stock but would take a week or so to arrived, I was asked for a 50% deposit, 2,400 baht and that was that, so we can still watch television whilst the part arrives, but with poor quality sound unless we watch DVDs/blue rays, what a neat service and so prompt,
it was cat shampoo day today, first the turn of Mariana,
who was not amused, as it happened neither were Cable and Hogue, you should have heard the noise! we watched a few game shows in the afternoon,
after our evening meal we watched the first couple of episodes of the television series Jekyll & Hyde, OK it is a long way from the original story, but was remarkably good, the sets were top notch as was the costumes and acting, we are looking forward to the next episodes, sadly we have read that despite having some cracking stories for season 2 the series will be scrapped, such a shame as even this early on it seemed so go,
we then watched a few more from Rome, again a great series to watch and as the midnight hour approached we were off to bed.
