In The Early Morning,

the fox had seen someone,

downstairs,

for us we were up early also, as mentioned Diana had this week off, so glad rags on,

and a look at yesterdays flowers, also I am only making one post today, as we are out early again tomorrow, and there are a lot of photographs in this post,

 a quick pose,

and we are soon at the station waiting for our train to come in,

I guess because of the lock down and peoples unwillingness to travel, we had the whole carriage to ourselves,

and the one next door as it happens,

we were soon at London Bridge,

 admiring the architecture,

 especially the Shard,

this one from Diana's telephone,

 and the buildings nearby,

note to self, I must buy a wider angled lens, I can not get the whole building in frame,

unless I get so far back I can not see the base, as it is obscured by other buildings,

enough already, we are on our way,

 to the Hay's Galleria,

I just had to,

the galleria was virtually deserted,

which gave us time to look at the David Kemp's, moving sculpture the NAVIGATORS,

 a fantastical piece of artwork,

which every so often springs into life,

we made our way to the embankment,

the walkie-talkie building amongst others across the river,

 on our side H.M.S. Belfast

it was my turn to pose,

then Diana,

the guns allegedly trained on what was the Mad House, known in the past as Bedlam, now known as the Imperial War Museum,

and one as we passed the battleship,

we made our way along deserted pathways,

 towards the Tower Bridge,

which although looking busy with traffic as we later found out had hardly any foot traffic at all,

along the side of the Thames very few people,

 which was great for us,

 looking back,

towards the rear of the Belfast,

one of the building on our side of the river,

opposite us the Tower of London,

 looking back,

 to some of the buildings,

 we had just passed,

notice the lack of people, workers and tourists,

 it was great!

Diana could pose away to her hearts content,

with out anyone spoiling the scene,

 another look back,

 and another pose by Diana,

well I had to get into the photographs as well!

we made our way to the base of the bridge,

and to the staircase that leads to the road,

 and here we were,

 not a pedestrian in sight!

we had a look over the river, now you might think that as we are in the heart of London, it is all so busy, but if you know where to look, there are some small oasis of peace and quite, and I know just a place, I mentioned it to Diana the last time we were here, but we never made it, but to day it was on the list,

so find a landmark, in this case The Liberty Bounds,

and when you find that, walk a bit further towards the walkie-talkie building, and find,

and then you will be just a 100 yards or so from,

just take a left into St Dunstan's Hill, post code EC3R 5DD and there it is,

 the legend outside,

the garden is part of the church ruin,

 which goes back some time,

the Church of St Dunstan was originally built around 1100 and is a Grade I listed building,

and is as peaceful as you would like, and time for a pose, under normal circumstances a haven for office workers nearby,

but today we had it all to ourselves,

 going back to the history,

a new south aisle was added in 1391 and was repaired in 1631, it was severely damaged in 1666 by the Great Fire of London,

and did not escape the Second World War,

when the church was again severely damaged in the Blitz of 1941, Wren's tower and steeple survived the bombing,

ancient and modern, side by side,

during the re-organisation of the Anglican Church after World war II it was decided not to rebuild St Dunstan’s,

 its fate was undecided,

I kept bumping into Diana as we explored the ruin,

it was in 1967 the City of London decided to turn the remains into a public garden, which opened in 1970, and remains so today,

 we started,

 to make our way out,

 such a peaceful place,

I had to have a pose,

 the surviving tower,

back past the Tower of London,

 towards the bridge,

by the side of the bridge,

 a quick pose,

 by the dolphin statue,

 sans water,

and we were on our way back

 across the Thames,

only a couple of others crossing in the distance,

 the Shard in the distance,

 looking back,

and down to where we were going next, The Ivy, Tower Bridge,

ice creams after, if we are not full!

Diana had booked a table last week,

and here it was,

Diana ordered a peach and elder-flower ice tea, and for myself a glass of wine whilst we waited for our food,

we were early so there were a few diners still to arrive,

 Diana had a look around,

at the well stocked and inviting bar,

 just what the doctor ordered!

for starters Diana ordered Bang-Bang chicken,

mackerel and toasted bread for myself,

 'Cheers!',

and for Diana's main course baked salmon with rice,

for myself, duck with glazed hoisin sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds,

 'Cheers!',

 the food was delicious,

and then the desserts, strawberry ice cream with white hot chocolate sauce, for Diana,

cheese and a selection of bites for myself,

 another 'Cheers!' from me,

a last pose from Diana and we were on our way home,

 past Tower Bridge,

where Diana made this video above,

we made our way towards the station,

 a last look at walkie-talkie,

when we heard screams of laughter from some children, any moment now,

and 'thar she blows!' well lots of them,

 great fun for all,

 bye-bye Belfast,

 into the station,

which was as deserted now as it was when we arrived,

 get comfy for the journey,

just as we passed Millwall,

Mr. Sleep put his hand upon my shoulder,

but I was soon awake as Diana had to pop into Waitrose for some mushrooms and cream, next into the park and home, where it was feet up for one each from Poirot, Endeavour, and New Tricks,by now it was just past midnight, so for us we were off to bed.
