Off To The Dentist,

so we parked in the Friendship car park,

 which was packed,

 as it was market day,

so I took a couple of pictures,

and over the road I went as the dentist is just opposite,

as I was on the other side of the road I made this short video, looking towards Second Road then across to Friendship, the entrance to the Soi Bukaow market next to the 7-11, the dentist Dr. Chanis and finally next door to him the travel agent we normally use All Seasons Travel,

the bad news was that being market day the dentist was fully booked so I made an appointment for tomorrow, so off to the market we went,

I thought this was a neat idea,

a chain driven bar-b-q sausage turner,

as you might expect lots of clothes,

and cowboy shirts in my size which was unexpected,

and naturally lots of 'T' shirts,

 plus a few jewelry stores,

I made my way to the livestock,

 and plant stalls,

which I always enjoy looking around,

 the cactus always look interesting,

 especially the grafted ones,

I made my way back out of the market,

past the motorbike shop that had this machine outside,

 with really neat custom wheels,

 and handlebar layout,

including this steering damper to iron out all of those high speed wobbles,

the entrance to the market opposite friendship,

I keep seeing more of these 3-wheedlers on the roads over here, they look quite strange as both front wheels turn and on some of them the front wheels actually lean into the corners,

after our evening meal a bit of fun with A Fish Called Wanda, I know I should not laugh but animal lover K-K-Ken's attempt to kill the dog owning witness was so funny,

we enjoyed last nights Western so much we decided on another, Appaloosa, starring and directed by Ed Harris, very entertaining,

to round the evening off the first of series three of Garrow's Law, unfortunately the last of this excellent series that was made, next for us we were off to bed.

The Enemy Of Any Type Of Aircraft Is Weight,

so imagine airliners with thinner, lighter walls

that were made of OLED screens instead of the normal fuselage, for every 1% reduction in weight, the approximate fuel saving is 0.75%, if you save weight, you save fuel and less fuel means less CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and lower operational cost and you get a great view of the outside world, everyone wins, well that is the idea of the UK's CPI,

by using OLED screens instead of windows arrayed in panels along the cabin walls and ceiling, the screens could show the outside world (as captured by wide-angle panoramic cameras on the outside of the plane) at a resolution of 150 dpi, I wonder how my fear of heights would cope with this if it ever came to fruition?

Another Person Who Spells As Badly As Myself,

has been found apparently working,

close to the High Street in Warsop, Nottinghamshire last Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the Co-op said the contractors were made aware of their mistake and would amend the spelling 'as quickly as possible', so I guess this was in the Co-op car park, just goes to show I am not the only bad speller out there!

Just A Few Days To Go,

until Halloween on Friday,

so I thought we would feature a few pumpkin carvings from master craftsman Jon Neill, some like the one above he leaves naturally coloured,

others he paints and makes particularly gruesome,

especially if you suffer from Coulrophobia!

Diana's Laptop,

was getting so slow to start,

we popped it in to Wattana Computers where we had bought it a few years ago for them to try to tweak it up a bit, the shop is opposite Foodland on Pattaya Klang, this is the side entrance where the bike/car park is, so we are waiting on a call from them to let us know when to pick it up,

after our evening meal we settled down to watch How The West Was Won, the film at nearly 3 hours long follows the fortunes of a family of settlers and their children as they grow up in the West, naturally as it was a long film we decided on the full cinema effect, so Diana made a bowl of popcorn which seemed like a good idea, until a crown on one of my few rear molars broke off, a visit to the dentist tomorrow I fear, we rounded off the evening with one more from the excellent series Garrow's Law, then off to bed.

H.G. Wells (1866-1946),

wrote many books and stories,

one titled The Country of the Blind was first published in the April 1904 issue of The Strand Magazine, it is one of Wells's best known short stories, it tells about the travels of Nuñez and his visit to Parascotopetl, well here is something he could have done with, a free eye, you may have to read the story to get the significance, it is a great read.

The Wonders Of Nature,

never cease to amaze me,

if you are lucky enough to be travelling in Costa Rica on either the Atlantic or Pacific sides of the country, or better still visiting any of these national Parks in the area, Guanacaste National Park, RincĂłn de la Vieja National Park, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Palo Verde National Park, Carara National Park, Poás Volcano National Park, La Selva Reserve and Biological Station, Juan Castro Blanco National Park, IrazĂş Volcano National Park, ChirripĂł National Park, or La Amistad International Park, keep a look out for this little chap, the glass wing butterfly (Greta oto), Costa Rica is crisscrossed by migrations of 64 species of glass wings, this species, Greta oto, is one of the most abundant ones and is spotted more often than some of its relatives,

but how strange that most other species of butterfly have wings of so many colours but this one is almost transparent, amazing!
