I Am Only Making One Post Today,

as Monday is Diana's day off,

so we will be out first thing, back to Sunday, we were out for a pre-lunch stroll, into town and on to a number 227 bus,

alighting at the lower gate to Crystal Palace Park,

we first wanted to look at the stalls, to buy our dessert for today, not many stalls here, just a few in the distance,

we passed the café,

and neared the few stalls that were here,

it must have rained a lot here, we had never seen this pool of water on the right of the stalls form here before,

the first stall, honey, and lots of it,

next Diana's favourite, I thought at the time we passed it, "we will be back!"

lots of bread on a couple of stalls here,

and the biggest holes in a cheese,

that we have seen,

next stall my favourite,

berry crumble and I will be back!

we were both hungry, and kept smelling the most delicious aromas,

for Diana this stall, selling Filipino food,

for myself the aroma of curry almost had me buying one,

I have to admit I am not familiar with Venezuelan foods,

a slice of the green cake for Diana from this stall a little later,

although we did not need any we had a look at the fruit and vegetable stall,

back to the cake stall, and a slice of green cake,

then the doughnut stall,

3 for £9.00,

and we were on our way past the ice cream van,

to have a look at the dinosaurs, as it happens I was reading the morning papers before we left, one by shear happenstance had a article mentioning the park and it's dinosaurs, it is here, and a interesting read it is too,

we made our way along the lake,

on the side that the dinosaurs roam,

and there were our first few,

in the distance this fearsome beast with its head out of the water,

on the island,

more appeared,

as we walked along the pathway,

over the bridge that once had a rushing waterfall under it, but it was too expensive for Bromley council to pay for the electricity for the pumps, so the waterfall has fallen into disrepair,

a few more dinosaurs,

looking through the trees,

if you would like to know more about the dinosaurs,

they actually have their own website here

that has the history of the 30+ dinosaurs here

we were nearing the end of the lake,

a plesiosaurus I am guessing,

we rounded the end of the park,

and started our way back to the entrance we arrived at,

in the distance,

boats that can be hired in the summer season,

that will need a lot of cleaning as usual after the birds made them their winter resting place,

the end of the lake in sight,

down the hill to the bus stop and home, as it happens we have made many posts about the park, they are here, if you are interested in it an seeing the park in different seasons,

arriving home, time for a read and a sherry,

for our starter,

lobster bisque soup, with a real lobster!

followed by roast pork,

'Cheers!',

time for a fortune cookie,

before our desserts we bought earlier,

in the afternoon we watched a few Columbo's, but in the evening a fascinating documentary,

image BBC Woolly Mammoth: Secrets from the Ice, I had always thought that the colour of woolly mammoths hair was, well a sort of brown, but it turns by studying their hair, DNA and other precursors that their hair could be blond, auburn or brunette, and as it happens towards the end of the programme a find of a mammoth was made, it had strawberry blonde hair! amazing, we followed that with a Have I Got News For You, after which Diana was off to bed,

for myself it was then another of the Indiana Jones films, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, this time though Indiana is pitied against the Russians in a bid to hold the crystal skull, for me another hugely watchable film, just a slight criticism, the sword fight on the two moving cars was for me way to long, but still highly watchable for us, after which I too was off to bed.

Dear Stanley and Diana
Looks like a fun day out for you two! Nice Diana has a day off to enjoy and best of all, Monday-avoiding the weekend crowds.
We are getting very warm weather here in South Texas, so have been out often with Elmer our dog in our golf cart. Alley has planted all her Thai herbs a few days ago in starter trays and now they are all popping
Somewhat like your Venus Fly Trap program. We take them to the outdoor front porch each day so they are now growing fast. We are waiting for the Robins of Spring and smiling as another winter is almost past. You will be enjoying your summer sun-bed before you know it!
Any sign of Renard the Fox! Hope he is ok. Winters come hard for the elderly!
Take care and enjoy spring!
Best
John and Alley

Dear John and Alley, it was Sunday that we went to Crystal Place as Diana normally tries to take Sunday's off, hence the market, but the good news was that she also had Monday off as well, so we went to Coombe Wood and Coolings nursery, it is good news that spring is almost here, as for our fly traps we are still waiting for a few to germinate, we did have a few seedlings start, but I fear they were not fly traps, as it happens when we went to Coolings Diana bought me a fly trap plant, so at least we have one to look at on the window sill! I saw one fox only yesterday as it happens, but he walked straight past before I could grab the camera, the good news was that he look 100% fine, no sign of any mange or limping, bring on the spring! best regards, Stan and Diana.
