We Have Featured Highly Coloured,

outdoor basket ball courts before,

like this one from French fashion brand Pigalle and design agency Ill-Studio, back in June this year, 

 and it seems they are popular, as this aerial picture shows, 

 Artist Katrien Vanderlinden has painted colourful shapes inspired by toy bricks onto a basketball court in the Belgian city of Aalst,

Vanderlinden's Ezelsplein mural is based on a children's mathematical reasoning game named Logical Blocks, which comprises squares, rectangles, triangles and circles, in different shapes, sizes and colour,

inspired by these shapes, she added triangles, circles and rectangles in between the traditional court markings – creating spaces for the local children to play other games, block colours in hues of blue, yellow and pink were chosen to fill in the shapes, as an "ode" to the bold and graphic Memphis art movement, and above the completed court, and it appears She is not alone in designing a project to be best-seen from above, in response to the increasing popularity of drone photography of basketball courts on social media, 

 for instance Nike have gotten in to the frame,

  when they enlisted Brooklyn-based artist Kaws to paint his signature motifs across two basketball courts in New York City,

the artist who is known for his brightly coloured, cartoon-like works and limited-edition objects covered two side-by-side courts on Manhattan's Stanton Street,

other artists are dong the same, like the one above, "Drones are also widespread nowadays, so to make an artwork that can only be viewed as a whole from an aerial point of view isn't such a crazy idea," Ezelsplein commented, I wonder if the NBA will ever feature an artists basketball court in a league game?

We Had A Call From The Water Treatment Man,

making sure We would be home in the afternoon,

 he called round to change the filters in out UV reverse osmosis unit under the sink,

 in the evening it was glad rags on and We were off, 

after being picked up by Barry, we were going to the Au Bon Coin, the address is 352/104, phone: +66 38 364 542, it is not the easiest place to find as it is in one of the roads on Pratumnak Hill that goes between Soi 5 and Soi 6,

 the atmosphere inside is just so laid back,

 our complementary amuse bouche arrived,

 for starters Barry ordered a soup, and a crab salad,

 for Diana, 

meat loaf with blue cheese and salad, 

 and for Myself, a crab salad,

 on to our main courses, a beef kebab for Diana,

 served with the most delicious chips,

 steak for Barry,

 and a real favourite of mine smoked haddock, served on a bed of mashed potatoes,

We were all full to bursting, so we did not order a dessert, but these rum babas arrived, so we just had to eat them! the meal including one 25cl and one 50cl carafe of wine came to 4,500 baht for the three of us, which considering the quality of the food, service and ambience We thought was reasonable, after arriving home Barry called in for a chat and a nightcap, after saying our goodbyes we watched a couple of quiz shows and then for us We were off to bed.

As I Am Getting Older,

it is strange how things change,

I found these whilst looking for nothing in particular, 

if this is Your type of humour there are many more here, well I thought they were funny.

They Say,

laughter is the best medicine,

 and they may be correct,

 with a few home truths thrown in,

 just because You have not seen one, it does not mean they do not exist,

If You Are Thinking Of A Buying Pet,

how about a snail?

a big one, of course You have to like slimy pets, but look at the upside, does not need walks or exercise, no feathers or fur around the house, and does not make any noise,

the downside is of course it can not be trained to play fetch, but if a super sized giant West African snail (Archachatina marginata or fulica) is going to be your choice, have a word with German insect breeder Adrian Kozakiewicz of Insecthaus, and no I am not on commission and no I do not want a snail as a pet, I was just amazed at how big they grew.

After Tons Of Rice Have Been Harvested,

what can You do with the straw or wara that it is called?

there are a number of uses for it, it can be plowed back into the fields to improve the soil, fed to livestock, or even woven into decorative ornaments, but for the past 9 years Uwasekigata Park, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, has hosted a Wara Art Festival by teaming up with art students to create creatures, both large and small, from rice straw, 

 this year is the 10th anniversary of Niigata’s Wara Art Festival, and to commemorate, participants have sculpted animals twice as large as previous years,

the Wara Art Festival all started in 2006 when the local district reached out to Musashino Art University to seek guidance on transforming their abundant amount of rice straw into art, 

 and in 2008, the very first Wara Art Festival was held, since then, every year the school sends art students up to Niigata to assist in creating sculptures made out of rice straw,

the festivities have ended but the sculptures are on display through October 31, 2017, what a fun way to use the stalks of rice.

Sunday lunch,

at home,

a small glass of sherry to start,

and a bottle of bubbly,

a little bit different from the other occupants,

there were in fact two of them, a normal goldfish in the middle of the two, they were of course made of silicone, We had bought them to go in the cats pool, but they showed not the slightest interest in them, so into the aquarium they went,

on to desserts, a Thai dessert for Diana,

and for myself a real surprise, Diana had somehow bought a melon,

scoped the inside out, mixed the fruit with ice cream and frozen the result, delicious, all without Me knowing, diet starts tomorrow! We spent the evening chatting and listening to music, for a change We listened to 20 or more from the Buena Vista Social Club,
