I Am Only Making One Post Today,

as soon as I post it I will be off to visit Duncan,

back to Tuesday, Graham called the BT hub was working, at just before 11.00 in the morning 2 BT engineers arrived, and guess what? as they were checking the system the BT hub switched off and would not restart, after some time and no result a third engineer arrived, the result, the first engineer who installed the first past of the change over to BT was a outsourced worker, who replace the box in the street and the box in the shop found it worked and signed the job off, Open Reach as they are called work ASAP to complete as many jobs as possible in as short a time as possible, any way it appears instead of fitting a new cable they used a old existing cable that has now been found to have a intermittent fault, cable replaced the engineers assured Graham that all of this will mean no further problems, we shall see, next into the car,

I booked the car in for its MOT, also I know we needed 2 new tyres, and as that size was not kept in stock they would have to be ordered in, so a note was made of the size and they were ordered, I will return on Thursday to have the tyres fitted and have the car MOT'd,

I drove home, after a coffee Diana called, so I was out again to meet Diana,

at Beckenham Junction, but not the train station,

the tram terminal,

arriving in Croydon we watched as our tram made its way to Wimbledon pass us,

we made our way along the High Street,

and in to the Central shopping mall,

we were both going to give blood as volunteers for a health sample,

and here we were in the NHS centre, in no time we were in and out,

and here are my results,

on the way out Diana went window shopping,

so did I!

outside past the Whitgift Centre,

naturally a look in Zara,

before a coffee and cake,

we made our way past what was Alders,

down to Surrey Street market,

which was a shadow of its former self,

no more than 10 or so stalls, unlike when in my youth there was a permeant waiting list for a patch,

Dabners still here after all of those years,

anything for you Madam?

the bridge above leading to the High Street,

we walked to the end of Surrey street,

in the High Street, so many shops boarded up,

and avenues closed down,

opposite the now closed Grants department store, there were in fact 3 huge stores here, Alders, Grants and Kennard's, now all long gone, anyone of which could have been the model for the TV series Are You Being Served?

we made our way to the tram stop,

so may new buildings in Croydon, but the retail side of it taking a huge hit,

past Foxgrove Lodge,

we continued our walk home,

past the snail mail box,

and into our street, the spring sun now low, it was feet up for a couple of quiz shows before our evening meal, then a Simpsons, a Outback Opal Hunters, after which it was feet up for Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, or Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, as it is sometimes known, great fun it was too, and with the end of that we were off to bed.
