When I Saw This Piece Of Glass,

and the word Lindisfarne,

where we visited the site, this is a view from the rear of the monastery, the dig site is on the far right outside of the boundary wall,

 and here they are, DigVentures

and it could be one of these very volunteers that found the piece, whilst we were there and took these photographs, the piece was recently found just a few months before in the summer, archaeologists believe the object, made from swirling blue and white glass with a small “crown” of white glass droplets, is a gaming piece from the Viking board game hnefatafl (“king’s table”), or a local version of the game,

and this is where Lindisfarne is in the UK, we stopped there on our way to the Orkneys, a round 1,700 mile driving trip!
