Tuesday, Friday Market.

most Tuesday's or Fridays we go to Soi Bukaow market just off Pattaya Tai or South,

Friendship super market is on the same road almost opposite so it is there that we park, this is the sprit house in the car park on the other side of the road in Soi Bukaow looking towards Friendship and Sumkvit same place but looking towards 2nd. road, considering it is market day and about 1 in the afternoon there is hardly any traffic, things are really quite out here looking along Soi Bukaow it'self Diana buying some clothes, fresh waffles every market day, not sure I would like to bump in to that boiling oil, but what ever it is it smells pretty good! the latest crop of oranges, I think these are called logans or might be lumyai?

How did that song go? yes we have no bananas! to tell the truth I have never seen these before, all I could find out is that you eat them, but I have no idea if you eat them raw or cooked or wether they are just used to flavour food, now leaving the food part of the market and making our way to the plant section

view along the side of the Dolphin restaurant were we sometimes have coffee

the Dolphin restaurant sprit house, this is my favorite part of the market, the orchids and live stock, but I did not take any pictures of the dogs, cats, birds and fish as some time ago I saw some one being told in no uncertain terms not to take pictures of the live stock,
row upon row of beautiful orchids, I have to say the two pictured above are my favorite type of orchid, then just a little further along are the more "usual" type of plants for the garden, after all of that shopping a refreshing glass of ice coffee, then home for tea and medals, if you want to look at the pictures from our Philippine trip please go to the bottom of the page and click older posts.

We went to Foodland to pick up the rolls for Saturday afternoon and eat at Valantino's as they were being made, whilst there the owner invited us to the opening of his new restaurant next week on the hill going from Pattaya to Jomtien, so we are looking forward to that,
soon it was time for the Saturday get together, Tony, Mark, John, Geff, the other Geff and Tom were all here with all of the girls downstairs, Honey Mae, Riza Fay, Marisa, Casey and Diana,

well the girls started cooking with a vengeance, Mike and Riza brought some seafood and chicken round plus with the fish I caught yesterday food was being cooked everywhere, then it was time for serious drinking and putting the world to rights!

medicinal brandy!

smiles all round

the girls had a selection of chicken and seafood,

upstairs we had fish and chips with fried onion rings, absolutely delicious.

Friday night out

Friday night, so out as usual, Diana really likes Indian food so once again it was off to Ali Bar-Bar's in Central road, at first there were only two of us there, as Jeff is in the States at the moment, but by the time we left it was packed, the reason I mention this is that in some of her restaurants we have been to recently we were the only customers all night, things are slow out here as it is the low season, as usual the food was delicious and we have enough for another meal in the freezer. Ready to go Upstairs to Ali Bar-bar 2 views inside First course, prawn puri and chicken samosa Main course, chicken tika massala, Bombay alhoo, butter chicken and pilao rice. on our way home.

There is a lot pilots have to take into account when hulling your ass across the sky... 1. Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory.
2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, then they get bigger again.
3. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous.
4. It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.
5. The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
6. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.
7. When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No one has ever collided with the sky.
8. A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again.
9. Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.
10. You know you've landed with the wheels up if it takes full power to taxi to the ramp.
11. The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival. Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival and vice versa.
12. Never let an aircraft take you somewhere your brain didn't get to five minutes earlier.
13. Stay out of clouds. The silver lining everyone keeps talking about might be another airplane going in the opposite direction. Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide out in clouds.
14. Always try to keep the number of landings you make equal to the number of take offs you've made.
15. There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately no one knows what they are.
16. You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
17. Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them.
18. If all you can see out of the window is ground that's going round and round and all you can hear is commotion coming from the passengercompartment, things are not at all as they should be.
19. In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
20. Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.
21. It's always a good idea to keep the pointy end going forward as much as possible.
22. Keep looking around. There's always something you've missed.
23. Remember, gravity is not just a good idea. It's the law. And it's not subject to repeal.
24. The four most useless things to a pilot are the altitude above you, runway behind you, gas back at the airport, and a tenth of a second ago.
25. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. There are, however, no old, bold pilots.
