This Picture Surprised Me For A Couple Of Reasons,

firstly it is real,

I thought I was looking at a Photoshopped picture, but this is the pigeons real colour, known to the world as the Pink-necked Green-pigeon (Treron vernans), the second surprise for me is that it lives here in Thailand, in fact it can be found in Cambodia and S Vietnam (S Annam, Cochinchina) S through Peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra (and most surrounding islands), Borneo, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Sulawesi and Moluccas and also in the Philippines (including Palawan), I guess it is a protected species, but if not I am surprised that no one is breeding them for the pet trade, the one pictured above is a male, females are more drab in appearance.
