Turned Bone, Nutmeg And Glass,

a strange combination for pieces of artwork,


photographs Kunstkammer Georg Laue, an internationally operating gallery for private collectors & museum curators alike, that specialised in precious Kunstkammer objects from the Renaissance,

 apparently back in the 17th-18th centuries turning objects from bone was considered a art form,

these works of art that were made at Berchtesgaden - one of the most important German centres for turning since the sixteenth century, the more I look, the more detail I can see in the pieces, I shudder to think how long it took the craftsmen to produce them.
